I thought there would be a workaround to get img tags working but now I'm not sure if it can be done from our end.

It seems as if any < or > characters are translated into lt and gt special characters when you submit the form. The webdesigner has done some programming so that if you write [lt special character here]a[gt special character here] it will be translated into the correct html form but if the 'a' is replaced by something else the tag is either printed with the special characters for < and > (you may check the code of this page to see them) or the tag is omitted.

So all in all, there is some underlying nonstandard stuff happening to our posts before they are stored in the database. For an example, the 'a' tag works and you can use the href attribute with it but for an example type attribute will be removed from the post.

They well and truly left the site high and dry - I emailed regarding security issues to every address I could think of and they haven't replied or made any effort to fix the vulns. Bah.

I saved the quote code to my notepad on my home computer, so whenever I find the need to quote someone I have the code right there - easy access, copy/paste!
