Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - Shuffle Your Feet (from the album Howl)

This album is fucking brilliant, incredible. Fast becoming one of my favorites.

It's got a down-home gospel bluesy feel that's akin to the brilliant band A3, but the soulful desperation of the band Spiritualized.

Highly recommended for anyone.

Iggy, BRMC's Howl is a bit different than their other work from what I understand.

To be fair, I'm not familiar with what they've done previously, only going by what I've heard from people who know better than I do. ;)

You need to still check it out though. It's great!

Back on the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club's "Howl".

Good god, this album rocks in so many ways.

I've decided today it very much reminds me of the Charlatans, I'm thinking a little bit like "Us And Us Only", which in turns reminds me a lot of the Rolling Stones' "Let It Bleed". And I think these guys might've listened to a little Bob Dylan possibly, maybe an inspiration for the song "Complicated Situation". Maybe they looked to Nick Cave, too, and the Beatles for the harmony.

This album has a familiar feel, like you might've heard these songs at another time, another place. It's very organic, lyrically dark, introspective and all that other writer-review nonsense you skim over in the new release sections of music magazines. It's good travelling tunes, makes me want to drive on a lonely highway toward sunset. But anyway.

There's this song on Howl called the Gospel Song, and I swear it could've been a collaborative effort with Jay Pierce from Spiritualized. It's so good it sends a shiver down the spine. Sympathetic Noose... the lyrics are just incredible.

There's some songs on there that have organs and piano. And some that employ a heavy good groove, and a bluesy wail like "Ain't No Easy Way", which has a mean slide guitar that's rockin.

Please, if any of you like the Charlatans, The Rolling Stones, Primal Scream, Dylan, A3 - do yourselves a favor and listen to this album. Download it and give it a test drive if you must. I beg you.

I'll shut up now and just end it by saying this shit's excellent.

Getting into the Chems DJ set mentality with Confront Your Demons right now. Amazing mix. Amazing. They go everywhere with this one.
