Is it just me, or is the KFC logo getting creepier every year? The Colonel's been dead forever and he once said he wouldn't feed the new recipe of the chicken to his dog, but they have his cartoonified, perverted grinning mug on every product.

After he sold KFC to another person. They changed the recipe and the Colonel hated it. His wife thought it sucked so bad, she made them change the name of the company. If you notice, you never hear "Kentucky Fried Chicken" anymore. It's just KFC. They're not allowed to call themselves Kentucky Fried Chicken.

I remember when the Colonel was in the commercials, I remember the giant, slightly tipped, illuminated and spinning Kentucky Fried Chicken buckets that used to tower over the KFC establishments. And I remember so many times my dad would be off travelling for days/weeks at a time and mom would stop by Kentucky Fried Chicken on her way home from work because she was too exhausted to cook when she got home. And me and my brother loved it. That giant bucket meals, the sides of mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, and those biscuits. So-bad-it's-good in its greasy high fat glory, a quickie version of a home cooked meal, fast food but not like McDonalds - sooooo American.

I remember when the Colonel died and things started changing with the chain (mainly the taste and all these test runs they had for new and different meals). That's interesting, though. I didn't realize the Colonel hated the new recipe (it certainly isn't what it used to be that's for sure). I also never knew why the name was changed to KFC. I always just assumed it had something to do with just abbreviating Kentucky Fried Chicken.
