As you might have seen from earlier posts, I have said that the local rock station has actually been playing Galvanize a decent amount. Ok, so you might say.."so what Soups....what's the big deal?". Well, the big deal is that this station doesn't play this kind of music. Yes, they have a decent variety, but only .007% of their playlist is "electronic" music....and on top of that, they completely ignored the entire Come With Us album save one or two plays of Denmark during a session of "Sunday School", which is the one time slot dedicated to playing random and or breaking tunes. Most of their usual playlist consists of the new rock sound of the moment....Killers, Franz F, Velvet Roveolver, etc... Mostly 3 to 5 piece bands. This is big news for a Chemical Brothers fan....hearing Galvanize more than 4 times in one week on Atlanta radio? Never would have though it would happen. I personaly even said this directly to their music director a few weeks ago. I said Galvanize would not be a part of their regular rotaion. Well, I was wrong.

....today, I get off work and hop in my car to beign my journey home . It's 5pm so that means it is the "all request hour". They only play requests at this time. They just started this not too long ago and it has been wonderful. It breaks them out of the regular corporate 12 song rotation and allows for an unpredictable hour of music for those stuck in the horrid Atlanta traffic. What they call the "Freedom at 5:00" has been a reall sucsess for them. It has also kept me from switching directly to one of my CDs as soon as I get in the car. Last year, there was a two week period where they played the same fucking Incubis song at 5pm everyday.....everyday...5pm...same Incubis song. I lost faith. Well, my faith restored when they allowed "us" to chose the playlist. ..so I listen everyday now and I hear some great music. Of shit...I'm sorry, I reallly jumped away from the point...... SOOO..today, I get in the car and the first song in the all request hour is Galvanize. Huge shit-eating grin across my face. Almost in shock. Just thinking that somebody(besides me) requested this song. Galavize was requested and it was the opener for the rush hour segment. Millions upon millions heard it. Today alone, the first single from Push The Button got more exposure int Atlanta than the entire Come With Us album got the entire year that it was released.

and check this out..

go to http://www.99x.com/

then go to "99x music" on the left side of the page

then "playlist"

You can vote to keep or toss Galvanize.

..also take a look at the other tunes in the playlist. Not all bad songs by any means, but certainly not in the same genre as the Chemical Brothers.

this is something special guys.......just an FYI
