My favorite gig of theirs that I went to was the one they did last year at Coachella (in California). It was great fun dancing under the open sky and a perfect way to top off an already excellent day I was having at the festival. Plus, I was with a great group of friends so that definitely added a lot more plus points to the whole experience.

I wrote a whole review of that gig, it's a long read but it's at the planet-dust.net site under features and live reviews.

I read somewhere that one of their Glasto gigs was one of their favorites. I also read that they love to play in Japan too. I don't even remember where I read all this, maybe NME or Q or something.

Hmm... there are not that many people I know that would go to a Chem's concert with me. What would in no way keep me off joining one of their gigs, though. ;-)

I have never seen the Chems live or DJ :( but I ve made it my life's mission to see them live at least once before they break up (which is rumored to be after the next album but who knows?) They will definately tour with the 5th album and possibly even for the greatest hits album so hopefully i can catch them there! I have the same problem as C-row cos none of my mates like them much, the only one that likes them a bit is only into Dig Your OWn Hole

What I want to do next time the chems tour is take someone I think might enjoy the chems but who have never heard them before. Could you imagine coming out of there with your retinas fried from the veggie vision and hearing all these amazing tracks live and loud?

to get back on topic. i have been lucky enough to see the chems play 21 times now, i last saw them dj at homelands at the weekend.

it is very easy to decide the best dj set i have heard them played. it was the 'big beat boutique's' christmas party in 2001. the night started with a set from boutique resident erol alkan, who i had never seen before, and totally blew my friends and i away. a very tallented dj! then we had to put up with fatboy slim for a couple of hours, who played shit - cos he is not a great dj IMHO. Then we had the headline act, the brothers. They played one of there classic sets, they played many of there bootlegs, and the whole vibe of the club was so up for it. i've always love the boutique club, cos the people who go there really love and know there music. the night was ment to finnish at 3am, but over ran by 45 minutes. the chems played for for nearly 4 hours. we had a little after party when we got back home that lasted most of the following day. a magic weekend.

as for best live set. i would have to go for either brixton academy 1996, cos it was the first time i was them. you never forget your first chemical experience! or brighton event may 1999. which was one of 3 low key uk shows. the first shows they played after finishing 'surrender' which was to be realesed a couple of months later. it was so great to hear some of the album live before hearing the studio versions. music:responce, under the influence and got glint were just awesome.

As I understand, No. but lets see what sneakerbeater's got to say....
He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

does anyone honestly believe that a DJ sets is better a live set?? does that really need to be answered??

any muppet can mix 2 records together, but to put a live show on and make it an experience, thats something else!!!
