Dude, you can get a software studio set up for less that �100, probably less than �70.
Just get Cubase SX/SL (whichever the cheap one is) and a tone of free VSTs and you'll be sorted

my computer sucks. need new ram at the very least.....
?5,000 is my dream setup. apple G5, synth/midi set up, small mixing desk, guitar, a few pedals, ebow.
sorting my pc out in the new year. 1gb of ram, maybe a little more. running 20gb back up hd i got given as a present as a slave hd to run reason or cubase. maybe get one of those sexy new lcd widescreen monitors.

Your probably best just customising it to be honest.. nothing beats customisation 8)
Plus its alot cheaper too...[Even cheaper online]
If you wer to spend 8grand on a pc buying a G5 or w.e... you could build yourself a GOD pc for that price..
Yeh, its a 64bit system but you could just get an AMD Dual-Core and it wud send that g5 packing 8)

two 30" monitors running youre desktop on one and protools on the other......30"....i mean thats bigger than my tv!!!
and 8gb of ram.......it is unreal......i customised the g5 up to $14,000 last night!
thats ?11,000, 2 monitors, an ipod nano for good measure and logic studio pro

Dont take an Ipod nano man. I know they look fucking sexy , but the price/size is bad comparing to the 20g.
I mean , a 4 g is 259 euro's , and 20 g is 209 euro's. For 50 euro's more you have 16 g more. ( And if u have any change to buy it in the US , than a 20 gig in dollars will cost the same as a 4 gig here in Europe. )
