I was at this show.. it was my first Chemical Brothers show ever.. in fact.. and I was sorta put off by the MC... (who was a big part of putting on the ultra festival.. and runs club space in miami... incase you wanted to support him like he supported you...heh.) I almost expected the annoying MC at some points.. but he did it WAY too much ... and the lady at the end.. was a total buzz kill.. here I am.. enjoyin my first Chemical Experience ( even tho it's a DJ Set ) and right after comes this obnoxious lady talkin about rock the vote bla bla this is kicking off right here in Miami.. uh.... I understand how she was trying to appeal to the crowd of people at ultra.. but it was completely obnoxious and had the opposite effect.. I will show no support for someone who is loud and obnoxious interrupting the show I paid lots of money to see... Anyway.. I Hope to catch a live set.. that doesn't have an obnoxious DJ.. I've actually been bsing around with friends on other boards to see if I can find a real cheap way to go to europe or something since it seems like that is the only way to see a live set.. :/

EvoldicA - sorry to hear the annoying MC dented your good time, but I hope it didn't ruin your experience with the Chemicals completely.
What I want to know, is was what happened with the Chemicals an isolated incident, or were other dj's getting their sets thrashed by annoying rock-the-vote mc-ing?
There's going to be a new Chemical record coming out later this year. They're doing the festival circuit now and I wish I could hop on a plane to Europe and see them in the festival element too! Don't give up on hope seeing them in the US supporting Chemical5!

Hey children I'm going to let you all in on a little secret.. well some of you might know this or have tried it:
I originally did this when the chems djed on mtv2 that new years. Although I already had the bootleg of in glint (dusted decks) the version on mtv was way better, it included tracks not on in glint like the chems remixes of lionrock, leftfield, fatboy slim, plus they played a really nice kinda acid tribal track, and let's not forget new order.
Since there were all of these parts where they would cut off the music and have some accordion sound (guess to stop bootleggers haha), I ran it through sound forge. With that I was able to cut out those parts where the song was interrupted and pasted a part of the song that sounded the same. The end result was a rockin good dj set with no strange accordion noises and I cannot tell now where I replaced parts.
As of now I've been working on doing the same with the WMC set so I can get rid of George Wanker and his mic obsession along with the crazy lady yelling about how Paul VD is going to take over the world or some shit like that. So that's my suggestion, if you like the set, run it through a sound program and replace the parts of banter with other parts of the song where that cock-knocker isn't yelling "yeeah" or "give it up miami." To be quite honest if I were at the show I would've taken that mic from him and that lady that fucked with star guitar.

Not at all.. It was still something I will remember for a very long time... because I had been waiting so long to catch them live.. it was an AMAZING show.. even with all of the annoyances of "rock da vote" and... seeing how bored they must of been by just spinnin records :]

The rock the vote thing only happened after the Chemical Brothers and before PVD. The other MC was talking a bit during PVD.. but not anywhere near as much as during the Chemical Brothers.. and every time PVD would glare at him like he was just tolerating him because he was getting paid.

That is definitely not a problem ;) I love them still.. I just feel like I haven't really experienced them at their best.. .. Don't most of us go to a live show for that? :) Hopefully I can either catch a live show in Europe or they will play a live show here sometime.. I'm sure it's a matter of it costing more for them to tote all the equipment for a live show here.. and once the venue pays enough to have them play they think that's just enough.. cmon US venues bring us the chemical brothers LIVE!!
