hmm. A lot of good bands are coming out with albums this year. I'd hope/bet money that mgmt and/or hot chip will be there. As for the chemical brothers, i doubt they'd start their tour in the us as well as daft punk, which some people are speculating... but excited about lcd soundsystem

Hot Chip for sure! I'm hoping they will come cause their album is next month. Crossing fingers for Beastie Boys, and whoever can make me sweat in the Indio Sun fosho! I haven't seen LCD yet, but would like to!
I also would like to plan the hotel much earlier than last year. Anything closer to the show will be better. Besides, I'm willing to spend a little more on a better room. If anybody else goes, we can arrange a better room with kick-ass AC and more space for y'all.
Now i'm way too excited! Probably due to my third cup of coffee this morning.

List is official now.
http://www.coachella.com/
now time for raving on bands I like on lineup.
Friday
LCD Soundsystem, The Specials, Grace Jones, Whitest Boy Alive, The Cribs, Little Dragon
Saturday
Hot Chip, 2ManyDjs, Devo, Gossip (kinda a let down day for me)
Sunday: Gorillaz, Phoenix, ORBITAL! De La Soul, Charlotte Gainsbourgh, Plastikman
I'm sure everyone is thinking, what's with the ???? by Thom Yorke.
My biggest draw would be Orbital and Gorilaz on the Sunday. Will be interesting to see Phoenix in a headliner spot compared to the early afternoon spot in 2006.

From my last post, I'm 2 out of 3!
Very impressive lineup! Each day is almost equal in excitement!
My faves:
Friday: LCD, Jay Z , Them Crooked Vultures, Deadmau5, Grace Jones, Benny Benassi
Sat: Muse, FNM, Hot Chip (should've switched places with Tiesto) Kaskade, 2ManyDJ's, The Raveonettes, Z-Trip, Flying Lotus,
Sun: Gorillaz, Pavement, Phoenix (lot of buzz) Orbital, Gary Numan
I'm good! Let's see what the piggy bank says!

Pretty good lineup. Unfortunately, it looks like my streak of attending will be broken this year due to a conflicting schedule. :(
I really hope that The Gorillaz show is not exclusive...
Edit: Sunday is so good it hurts. That is one giant clusterfuck to schedule.

@Jeanie, I see your Benny Benassi and I raise you a Tiesto and a recently pop-ulized David Guetta.
I just don't see the reason for taste makers to put them up on that list. Mind you they did put Madonna up back in 2006 and that was a shite set.
Also, I forgot to mention Gil Scott-Heron as well as Sly and The Family Stone. Some Funk and Soul is well needed.

I'm going. And I want to see David Guetta spin, hopefully throwing down "Jack Is Back." That track is fucking amazing. The end. Oh, but I guess he does do a whole bunch of other cheese... Hmmm...
I'm going to go to Saturday & Sunday. I'm sad Bosco & Whirls aren't going to make it. :-(
But ORBITAL!!!! OMFGZRAD!!!! I've wanted to see them for freaking yearz.

curse my schedule! :::shakes fist to the heavens:::
a heads up to you guys attending... (I just spoke to Pooter about this). They aren't selling single day tickets this year. Don't ask me why, they just aren't.
Many of the electronic acts that you think shouldn't be there are just candy raver fodder to boost sales.

You beat me to it Bosco!
I was about to post that until your post came up!
Lame fail for Goldenvoice!

I hope the elimination of single-day passes isn't a trend.
Because if it is, I can't foresee going to this festival again and we definitely wouldn't be able to go as a family if that's how Coachella is going to be. Which sucks, cuz Connor is on the verge of his teens and I think he's pretty ripe to go and actually enjoy it, rather than be like those other poor kids too young to go that you see being dragged around in the hot sun all over the place by mom and dad. Money is always an issue with me but damn, I know I'm not the only one whose family doesn't have money to burn on music festivals. I know the festival has to make money but the economy is still in the shitter last I checked, so this multi-day pass thing is an ass move. Between the overpriced food, drinks, jacked up lodging expenses plus getting there and back and the overall costs of passes. No thanks. Don't get me wrong. I adore this festival. It's where I fell in love with the Chemical Brothers. The Chems make my Coachella experience. I only go to Coachella if Tom and Ed are gonna be playing. I know the festival has to make money - and I'm sure it has done well in the past otherwise it still wouldn't be going strong. But this no single day pass thing smells of corporate greed somehow, and I don't like that. But whatever. I don't make these decisions. I'm not mad. Just sad, really.

Cashella!
Well said Whirls! You could've been a better promoter. :) Paul Tollett should've considered that there are people who been going to this festival every year, and not once ever paid for a 3-day ticket. The same goes for families! If I had a kid, he or she couldn't hang for 3 days straight in the sun all day long. One day is enough! Fans are particular in who they want to see (Chems all the way!) and shouldn't be forced to go an extra 2 days. And depending who you ask, were still in an economic rut, and that sucks for the younger crowd who saved up enough coinage from their jobs and only wanted to see their favorite acts on a one day pass. Maybe Paul is trying to limit the scalpers! Or maybe, when all of the 3 day passes are sold, the single day passes will be available.
It's a shit idea to begin with. Not everybody is strapped with cash. Coachella wins! Fans lose!
