I've been thinking for some time now the chems should put out a live dvd and the olympia last night was the perfect gig for it, put simply it was special. I noticed that the sound desk area was sporting a set of microphones and a video camera, does this mean my wish has some true?

that'd be really good if they did do a Live DVD, Definately something i'd have to buy to add to my collection :) I didn't notice any mic's or anything and i was near the front, I think i was jumping about too much maybe :)

nah, the sound desk was right in the middle of the arena facing the stage.

Hi renowden - sneakerbeater is right, a live DVD isn't likely. There's an interview that can be found in the thread linked below that touches on the prospect of a live DVD.

For now, it's not a likely venture. Nothing to do but wait and see what the future holds, because one should never say never. Perhaps one day!

thanks whirly. i'd like to know why they were filming it though...

It wouldn't make sense for them to have a camera so close if they were trying to film "all-angles" concert footage, which might mean they were recording it for something else...

Don't forget, however, that Tom actually supports the idea of a live DVD. It's not an impossibility.

its normal for the visual/lighting production area to have a camera aimed on stage. you'll find it there at every chemical brothers gig. there is no significance to it

Let's do a 'Live DVD' petition!

That'd be a good idea if it actually had any effect. If we have some evidence that Tom & Ed (or the businessmen associated with them, as they don't control everything about the Chemical Brothers) would listen to a petition, then a petition it shall be.

a petition is pointless, i think it was done before and it pissed off Ed a little, if the chems want to do it then it will happen, if not the singles dvd has some excellent live footage anyway

every gig chemical or non has a video camera, shooting the gig from usually the sound desk.

if they wanted to make a dvd they'd be multiple cameras all over and on stage.

sneaker - what's the status of your masterpiece? when do we see it?

I have observed other artists using cameras on stage, linked to the video/lighting effects so that they are synchronised with audience etc. so perhaps the camera had another role.

A new DVD of the latest videos would be nice.

Not bothered about a DVD to be honest, but a few live CD's would be very nice!

an Olympia DVD is impossible since there was no cameras ! a Glastonbury or Trafalgar Square one would be possible though.
