Chems' genre-mashing: What songs fit where?

Like I said at the outset, I'm not a fan of genrefication, but the music industry is pervaded by it and I was curious to see what debates a thread like this started.
Out of Control as techno/house/whatever was one that I anticipated would cause a stir, but I didn't think Chemical Beats would start a riot.
With a band that pulls on such a diverse range of influences, it really is interesting to see which elements people pull out of and read into each track. That was the real point of the thread.

I always thought that the closest band to the chems is Meatbeat Manifesto. Like their music, it is impossible to classify their style in just one genre. Each album can be categorized differently. For me, EPD is acid huse/big beat, DYOH is Big Beat/Psychedelic, Surrender is Psychadellic/house/trance, CWU is acid/house. I dont really know about the rest. These opinions change from time to time. A lot of it is just how I interpret the music at that point of time.

Thats what initially attracted me to them. I love to mix it up a bit. Like come on The golden path and are pretty soft. Almost like soft rock . And then thers the harder stuff that you just wanna dance to. Theres a mix of everything. I love the Chemical Brothers Diversity.

Its an ecletic hybrid mix. Comparable to a meetball sandwich.

I have to say when their music found me (because I really believe it found me, not the other way around) the Chems changed the way I listened to music. They could easily stick with one style and run with it, I'm sure a lot of people wish they would keep pumping out Dig Your Own Holes or whatever - but they take risks and I think that's good. I've always admired them not being afraid to push some boundaries musically.

Totally true. And thats why they are bigger then just some "electronic group"

And that's probably why they've been around for such as long as they have, too I bet.
Imagine being on auto-pilot and churning out the same stuff over and over and over again. That would be like, a McJob as opposed to creating and doing what you love.

We have written the music not for being pressed into a form. I have been a world traveller, all the impressions from all around the world i let flow into my music. I have been the one half of the chemical brothers, my friend the other half. i do this music for my own, not for commerce, but then it comes out.
1983 i bring this music back to earth, and as we play it in a discotheque, many want to buy, so it comes to the market.
If you hear the first three albums, this are from the original, you find a cut not on the right place, original the whole album has been one track. For commerce it was cutted.
