I'd have a few alternatives in there but the chems get a good nod.
Bigbeat was and still is for me the most creative, freestyling, energetic and fun genre out there. Pity it died a death in the late 90's. Dance music now could do with a shot in the arm that bigbeat gave it back in the mid 90's.

That's a very cool article. Kudos! The Chems were on there 4 times! Great to see TPPR on there, as well as Chemical Beats and Song to the Siren. Nice!

so what about the labels pop music, rock music, alternative, indie, metal bla bla bla? your argumentation leads to the conclusion none of these labels make sense any more as they're not considering the music in itself

Happyhardcore, trance, comercial dance, breaks, nu-breakz,triphop,dubstep,hip-house,house,tech-breakz---AAAAGH WHATEVER!!!! Music is hard to define exactly, it can be bunched into rough groups but thats as accurate as it can get usually. I'm not too pushed what people call what. there's more important things in life!! What matters is we all have the incredible intelligence and enlightenment to like this electronic based music call it what you like! I wont mind, just turn it up!!

"Indie" makes no sense, yeah. But rock/metal is just a name, it's not the same thing.

You can regroup all of them in the "electronic music" category.
Whenever people say "dance music", I always think they're talking about the basic club radio friendly stuff that is only intended to make people dance, without any musical research. But maybe that's a country thing.

This, my dear, is proper drum'n bass.

Norman cites Leave Home as one of the most influential big beat tracks yet can't even manage to get the name right?
