Ok, it's officially more than 60 hours since they opened the set at KL with the new track and I still can't get the vocal sample out of my head. I'm really hoping this is not a dj tool but a real chemical song in the works.
Believe me you, none of the half videos on youtube give you a real taste of how delicious that vocal sample is. We've had "the chemical the brothers", "these chemicals are good these chemicals are bad", "mindbending chemicals", but this one is a different league I altogether.
I hope Ed tells us whose sung the vocal? It's really hooky n the synths are lush - the vocal line has an innocent trippy funky vibe to it - it's got lodged straight into my heart and brain and won't leave at all.

Please tell us this will be released on vinyl, cd, anything pretty please with chemicals on top.

Better quality:

Great sounding track. Very Super Flash-ish so i would put my money on it being a new track and not just an edit. Either way i love it! :)

they played this at the beginning of the set - it was REALLY long - like REALLY long.
Superflash came on in the middle of the set. Absolutely love the new sound.

I like it, too. But I can't help, the melody during the break sounds a tad familiar.

Is this another one right at the beginning of the set?

Maybe not. Sounds a bit trancey..

Ah, and btw, I like the arguement you're having with a jerk on youshnoob about a faked set. Hysterical!

I remember this song much later in the set, but I was in a daze so I'll let anType confirm - this one was killer.
and yep - i gave up on that argument. apparently a lot of people were pissed off that they couldn't "see" ed n tom. I'm not sure if they do this regularly but that night was all about massive (read too much) strobes and smoke - u could see them only 4 or 5 times for about 10 seconds each the whole night except the parts where Ed came up and said hi to us and then he stepped outside the booth and waved to the crowd a couple of times..
folks actually think they weren't there? u could hear all the insanity, every element being mixed live every second.

I like the Simian vocal sample.

Could these be previews of their work for the London Olympics?

The cowbell at the beginning of the second video sounds a lot like the one in A Modern Midnight Conversation

The second track (the one with the Simian sample) sounds like Surkin

Edit : the clap at the beginning of the second video also sounds like the one in Swoon.

lol this is actually cosmic gate on the set, playing the 2nd song of their set.

So, definitely NOT a chems track, but I still want to know what track it is

Makes sense it is not from the chems set as there is the Simian/Justice We Are Your Friends Vox/DJ tool spliced in. Doesn't seem really in the style of Tom and Ed to play that.

I am honestly confused as I clearly remember this song from the night very loud n clear. Me n anType left he tent immediately n went n sat just outside for about 15 mins as I was in a complete stupor. cosmic Gate may have played it then at the beginning of their set as we could hear them loud but we sure heard this n I was thinking it was part of the Chems set when i heard the video yesterdy. May hve very well heard it outside then. AnType - u wanna confirm?

The first song Cosmic Gate played right after The Chems left was M83 - Midnight City (Eric Prydz Private Remix), I remember that clearly, but can't really recall at which point the Simian sample came in. Maybe it was just after that... I'm certain it wasn't during the Chems set. Most probably we heard it when we were sitting outside, coz we were just across the stage...

I heard this track on the radio some days ago and it immediately reminded me of the new intro:

Maybe they used it for samples?

C.H.E.M.I.C.A.L.'s got a nice EBW vibe to it, hope this means we'll be getting some "underground" Chem singles shortly.

Still reckon it's just a DJ tool intro, maybe a tribute to this?
