Whoa - been a while since the Festival took place, but this one is still stuck in my mind. Managed to get into the front booth, almost all the way up front, and just let go.

Great choice of stage really, 'coz Orange just doesn't fit with any type of Electronic music, and as far as I know, the atmosphere nearly lifted Green stage off the field when Underworld & Kraftwerk stopped by (ok, with Kraftwerk, it was the 2-3 minutes of non-stop applausing after each number ;-) ) - I can remember getting thoroughly soaked, mainly from the water being throwed towards the back.

As for the atmosphere, I can remember that during the brief moments where I was able to look back, the entire crowd just going up and down, especially during 'Hey Boy, Hey Girl' & 'Out of Control'. I would love to see a pic of that taken from the stage itself (should have asked my mom to take one, she worked backstage on Green stage).

Only negative thing is that during 'Private Psychedelic Reel', the guitar got just a tad too much, to the point where my ears started to hurt from the high pitch.

Indeed! They actually played 2 or 3 concerts this fall (I think) in Paris. Apparently, they've slimmed even further down the amount of equipment, going mainly with keyboards & laptops.

anType:

about temptation: does anybody remember the graphics they use as it is played - i think it is some strange robots...am i right???

does anybody have 'the test' live and is it good? (can't remember it from the roskilde session, and you all my great hate for the album version...

- have anybody noticed the 'new' beats between hoops and setting sun?

a good 909 drum and very simple key-pattern...? - i have heard it

both at roskilde and on a recording from 2002 at brixton...

the new setlist from the roskilde 02 (one of my friends helped me remember):

01 Come With Us

02 Music: Response

03 Block Rockin' Beats

04 Song To The Siren

05 It Began In Africa

06 Out Of Control

07 Temptation

08 Star Guitar

09 The Sunshine Underground (+ new intro)

10 Hoops (+ some new beats at the end 'master of horror' - my own very stupid title)

11 Setting Sun

12 Hey Boy Hey Girl

(pause)

13 The Test

14 The Private Psychedelic Reel (+ Ed with beautiful solo-ending on a synth) - did anyone get this on tape?

The robot is from Under The Influence. Temptation was bluish with spinning star guitar heads....

New beats from hoops = electronic battle weapon 6.

New keyboard-line between hoops/setting sun = reworked live setting sun.

I have 3 "the test"s live recordings: Brixton March 22 '02, Tokyo Feb 22 '02, Barcelona May 4 '02

Setlist from Toronto (Mississauga) show:

01. Intro

02. Come With Us

03. Music:Response

04. (bits of it doesnt matter/chemical beats)

05. Block Rockin' Beats

06. Leave Home

07. Song To The Siren

08. Under The Influence

09. It Began In Afrika

10. Out Of Control

11. Tempation

12. Star guitar/Temptation (thanks cat, I thought I heard it all over, but the various recordings I heard told me diff ;D)

13. The Sunshine Underground (no new intro)

14. Hoops/EBW6

15. Setting Sun

16. Hey Boy Hey Girl

17. Chemical Beats (for a minute)

18. Hey Boy Hey Girl

19. The Test

(LFO sounds and weird beats)

20. My Elastic Eye

21. The Private Psychedelic Reel

22. Outro (that a word? ;D)

Yea. That set was 2 hours long (or 2:10 ;D). Killer. The show was supposed to end earlier, but they kept going :D:D:D

Rockskilde seems shorter than that from that tracklist you provided...
