Some tunes are good, and others aren't. Cassius '99 is still a classic though! But their albums always sound like half of it was wipped up in three days. That's my impression. Etienne de Crecy, La Funk Mob and Motorbass, much better!

he's been in zoot woman since 1997!! one of my favorite tunes from the big beat hayday was Zoot Woman - Chasing Cities (e-klektik's death disco mix) on wall of sound. i remember when zoot woman got their first album out and were destined for big things, stuart price (LRD, thin white duke, jacques lu cont) temporarily left the band to become the musical director and keyboardist of madonna's drowned tour. he also performed the same duties on her re-invention tour.

Cassius... I can say retro kind of music.

I like Cassius, you should try Les Rythmes Digitales, also retro but not the same style as Cassius, and I like it over Cassius.

Another retro is Junior Senior, but I don't like it that much.

Cassius' last album is quite different, less samples, more instruments and proper writing, but maybe they still need time to achieve a greater maturity.

For your information, Motorbass is actually Etienne de Crecy and Phillippe Zdar (one half of cassius).

The second Cassius album is better, yes. And I know Etienne de Crecy and Zdar form(ed) Motorbass. I got some nice stuff of them on vinyl.

I've listened to some tracks from that soundtrack and some are very good, excluding 'rectum'.

Best mix of Sound Of Violence is either the Cassius Regae Rock mix, the Cosmo Vitelli mix or The Violators mix.

Feeling For You (Les Rhythme Digitales) is an awsome mix.

also, Stuart Prices other psydonems that people seem to forget is Paperfaces. Responsible for many of the half decent versions of Scissor Sisters tracks.

favourite Cassius track/mix is La Mouche (PLayed Live by DJ Falcon)

so much better than the original and so much better than the rip off by Dave Lee under his Raven Maize alias.

Aloud are a very good french band, i got into their older stuff before Sex and Sun went commercial. good shit tho.

Still a fan, though I agree w/ Slipvin about some inconsistencies. I don't really play their second full-length, but I've played 1999 at least once every month since, well, 1999. I got into them on account of sampling Willie Hutch when I heard the tune "Foxxy" after I heard it at a party in college.

"Hey, isn't that from a Pam Grier movie?"
