I have just opened up the forum and am stunned at how bad the spam problem has got...

making it almost impossible to use, i am very dissapointed..

Tom and I are both very concerned about this..we regard this forum as a great place for discussion and have been gratified over the last couple of years that it has led to group outings to shows etc

we can see that many good friendships have been forged in these pages..

and many fun times have been had..



today i am going to try and speak to someone at virgin to see what can be done..so please don't give up on it..



In the odd idle moment I visit other forums such as the manchester united forum and the dj history forum neither of which have these problems, so i don't see why we are so plagued with this boring crap

Well, let's hope this will solve things.

all of us are saddened that the spam problem has gotten this bad

the main reason the spam has got bad is that the administrator from virgin/emi deleted the surface2air account which some of us were using to delete the spam that appeared on the board. i have been in contract with the admin over the last few days but they haven't got back to me . so anything you can do to help us kept this place cleaner would be wonderful

yep we are pretty shipwrecked over here!



ben_j has set up a temporary chemical brothers forum until the official one is fixed.

nice one Ed. it has gotten really out of hand in the last few days what with the moderator account being deleted. we were pretty much on top of the spam until then.



hopefuly who evcer is in charge of the site,i.e who ever redesigned the front page can give us a brand spanking new (and secure) forum.



also if you find out who the admin is that deleted our most posted member (an_type) then please give him some a one eight thousand lashes for all the posts that antype lost.

Sweet Ed, thanks for the headz up. Got a question though. Is there any possible way the fans can run the new(er?) forum. I mean, I dont want the new Administrator of the updated/new forum to leave us high and dry again.
