did anybody listen to the broadcast last night on bbc radio 6. they played four tracks from the set then if you want more you had to text the word CHIME, if you didn't then you would text the word CRIME. me and other fans on the loopz website were going mad over the chat room . all of us texted in CHIME even though the broacast was a CRIME as they played the set too slow so sounded very strange. because of loopz' bombardment to radio 6 they called out some of our names, so it was a big shock to hear "we have a email here from chemical si who has written chime hundreds of times", i almost pissed myself with laughter.

because of the poor quality we all emailed in saying that it was too slow so at the end of the set they then said "we have had lots of responce of the loopz site saying that the sound was too slow... i don't know, we here at radio 6 like to think of it as chilled"... checky monkeys

all in all i think it was a good set and brought back some memories (memories not mameries). i think you can listen again for the next week (but get your own link as i'm not getting it for you).

hahah nice story.

the maida vale (last ever! sob) orbital set is superb, you can get it off emule, well worth checkin gout the whole thing. its also got john peel opening and closing it which makes it all the more poignant. 'wipes tear from eye'.

yeah, i totally regret not getting a ticket to one of thier last shows :( i was so brassic at the time i just couldnt afford it.

orbital are amazing, along with the chems they totally shaped how i see mausic. i remember the eclipse in 1999 they played a festival in cornwall the night before, but hardly anyone turned up - it was orbital on a massive stage with huge speakers and 200 people going for it 8) did a shit load of really strong pills, stayed up all night then travelled into plymouth for the actual eclipse at 11.00am - totally amazing and really trippy :)

ahhh, those were the days!! X-D

apparently he's a bit shocking on the old ones and two's. my mates tried to book him for their night, but he couldnt do it as he had other commitments in the same city on the same night. lots of people reported back that he was a bit ropey and they probably got lucky by not booking him. :?

sacrilege i know, but hopefully he's got better since.

I was fortunate enough to see Orbital and the late great Leftfield on the same bill at a new years eve extravaganza at Docklands in 2000/2001.

It was a stunning night, I can still feel the bass rumbling up my legs and through my belly! Little did I know at the time, that was going to be the last chance I would have to see either legendary act! Makes me one VERY lucky kiwi to have had the chance :)

25th June - Brixton Academy - London - England

27th June - Glastonbury Festival - England

3rd July - Dance Festival Tabernas 2004 - Almeria - Spain

08th July - Venue Maslak - Istanbul - Turkey

10th July - Oxygen - Punchestown Racecourse - Naas - Co Kildare - Ireland

11th July - T in the Park - Balado - Scotland

18th July - Wire 04 Festival - Tokyo - Japan

28th July - Peel Session - Maida Vale Studios - London - England

Out of there final shows I went to Glasto, it was a really good set and the atmosphere was very happy, there was alot of emotional hardcore fans. I read that the Oxygen and T in the park shows were just as good. However I would of loved to of gone to the Maida vale session.

Heres a pic that really captures and brings back the memories of the Glasto set. When they played doctor who it was really a special moment I thought. The only thing I didnt like in the set is when they played a bit of the darkness.

I laughed so hard when they played the Darkness sample during "Halcyon", but I don't really like "Halcyon" live, it's alright but seems to lack the right mood live.
