kate gibb does it again!! if the finished artwork looks half as good as the rejected artwork. then it must look stunning!!

Once again I'm working alongside 'Tappin Gofton' to produce a collection of images for The Chemical Brothers forthcoming album "Brotherhhood", released on 1st September. I love the title. Naturally, I can't show the finished prints but I can give you a sneak preview of what they're not going to look like. Things took a dramatic turn towards the end of the project and the ideas below were pushed aside for a something completely different. Watch this space....

I like the use of contrast/colors (Gibb is always good at colors, so one might expect a comment to sound like that)

Wow! These are absolutely gorgeous. I *love* the first one so much. From the color scheme to the near silhouette image of Tom and Ed waving out to the crowd as if saying "thank you". All above seem to be a fusion of the crowd from Surrender cover and the tunnel effect from the Come With Us cover.

If these are the ones that were scrapped, then I'm super excited to see what's actually going to be used!

the first thing that went through my mind was COME WITH US. like whirly said, it has that same kind of tunnel effect, which is why the Come With Us artwork has always been my favorite. it would be cool if the finished artwork maybe had aspects from all of their album's covers.

Yeah I think it will look similar because she seem to have kept the main elements the same throughout the experiment, unless it's an idea which has been completely thrown out, I think it will look something like that and I think it looks really cool, quite Chemical Brothers-like.

These covers wuold be perfect for a Live CD/DVD...

As for the pics: good!! There's definately a Come With Us reminiscence which I dig.

kind of got me inspired to do to some Illustrator work again! It also shows other concept art that was never seen before for the Chems album and singles! She also did some limited edition silk screen T-shirts for Stussy! there's this breakdance one she did here, but found out its sold out!

If you guys are at the book store check out the H.G. Wells books, I've read a few (I cant tell you how confusing "The History of Mr. Polly" is without knowing it was more common for the English to marry their cousins) and he's a good author and penguin books has been releasing them with some of Kate Gibb's best art, War of the Worlds looks a bit like CWU and there's one with the mountain background of WATN. Anyways big active will of course have details, but they're good.
