After getting into the Chemical Brothers last spring I came to the boards for recommendations on which albums to listen to and was greeted with great lists and genuine niceness . I was really excited that they were going to play the Hollywood Bowl and had planned on going to see them but due to unforeseen circumstances I couldn't make it happen. After listening constantly to further and come with us I became more upset that I had missed my chance to see them....then the Coachella line-up came out and I was beyond excited that I was given a second chance and I somehow managed to pull the trip off. Seeing this show after months of kicking myself in the ass for missing them at the Bowl was one of the greatest feeling I have ever felt at a show. I just wanted to extend my gratitude to this board for greeting my Chem Bros ignorance in the beginning with information and recommendations rather than brushing me off. You are now all to blame for my love of the Chemical Brothers and why I will try to see them every time they visit So Cal.

Sweet words my friend!

The next gig that comes in California, you're more than welcome to join the Chemical Brat Pack!

It's humbling for me ( and I think told this to Whirls at Coach) To even see the Chems twice this year, which is a rarity to me.

I've been reading The Coachella message board about the Chems show, and so far its been VERY VERY POSITVE! Even though a few of those posts acknowledge that the show was short, they thought the set was brilliant, The majority of those posts didn't even know the set was shortened!

In other words....Coachella loves you Bros!

and a better view of the Glownation!

Aww, that is very sweet! I love reading stuff like this! I'm so glad to hear you had such a great first experience seeing the Chems, and that you were able to make it out to Coachella!! Hope to see you next time the Chemical Brothers play a show here in S. California. :)

Is it a bad sign that I feel like it's been too long since I've seen them live... and it's been less than a week?

Is it a bad sign that I have a second browser window opened up to their remaining tour dates?

VISA is going to love me by the end of this summer.... If Tom or Ed are reading this, I want you to know that I'm clearly not going to get the remainder of my student debt taken care of until you stop touring.

I miss Tom and Ed already, too Darkstar. By all means, you should go for it now while the getting is good. take one for the N. american team!! And send me a postcard! :P

Since I had Monday and Tuesday off work (and Connor had school and Jim had to go into the office) I pretty much spent both those days relaxing alone watching YouTube - catching up on past Further gigs I held out on, and catching bits from Coachella. Also checking the Coachella boards and around the Internet looking for reviews and whatnot. It made me so thankful for seeing them, but the selfish part of me felt that this Chemical holiday I took only made me want to see them more. Sick, I know...

*sigh*

BINGO! Thank god i'm not the only one!

I feel you Whirls (and anybody else)! And its tough when your Chems are no longer gigging in your area! Most times when they do come over, you get this sense of relief for them coming to London, or Australia, or Florida! And when the show is over, you do your review of the gig, then take some time off the forum to take a break, and so on and so on!

But now it's like....Damn I need a 12 step program to calm me the hell down because I need to see them badly again! I never had this feeling of urgency from me to see them like I do now, and now this new form of energy is building up inside of me that I need something to kill the time till the Chems arrive again.

Shoot.....I'll even take a DJ set, or a walk on guest appearance on 'Doctor Who'!

I feel your pain DarkStar. After seeing them 4 times in a week in Aus I slipped into a depression that took a few weeks to come out of. If it wasn't for the distance and lack of money I'd be traveling for more too. I can't possibly wait another 3 years to see them like last time so I reckon I'll be traveling somewhere next year to see them.
Further Remixed There's nothing else...

When I was trying to figure out if I could make it to Coachella way back in 2005, for my first Chems show, I thought back then "well, how much longer are they going to stick at it? This might be my lone chance to see them", esp cause I was broke then + they hardly tour North America (going to Europe didn't seem a realistic option at the time, though I ended up doing it about eight months later anyways).

As fans, we're really fortunate not only that Tom + Ed have continued to put out music and tour behind it, but also that their material has continued to be excellent and that Further is a really vital, important album in their discography (I think it might be their best). They're not just living off of their past accomplishments; they are still blazing trails.

I hope it continues for several more years to come but, at the same time, I'm starting to act as though it could end any time now and I want to take in as much of that Chemical experience while we all still can. If and when they ever decide to pack it in and announced a "final" show a la LCD Soundsystem, that is something I can't possibly see myself missing out on.

Well, as if there weren't enough reasons to love the people of the Coachella forum, it does sound like a live recording of the chem's show is being finalized.... amongst many others:
AWW YEAH READ DOWN HERE

Although I don't post there I've taken a shine Coachella forum folks
- the glowruption, their enthusiasm for seeing the Chems, the YouTube vids they posted, plus the whole soberchella thing for Jim that we would never have known about if it weren't for that board. And yeah as if we need another reason to love em! ;)

I'm glad I'm not the only one, I was so sad the first week after the concert. First because I couldn't make it to the other 2 dates on Mexico City and second because I really wish I could see them more often and not have to wait "x" years again. :(

Best Easter ever-A streaming version of the Coachella show was uploaded by the recorder from the Coachella forum, magmazing, it's pretty top notch (some clapping from what I've heard thus far). That intro still gives me chills thinking of them darting on stage right into crazy synth noises.
There will be a downloadable version in 24 hours:
