Seriously though, you'll be doing yourself the biggest favour by making arrangements to see them the next time they tour.

Followed soon after by the sound of a screeching demon-horse rising up from Hell.....
Yes, that's right, the greatest song I've heard them perform live was in Chicago, back in '97 or '98, when they blew out "It Doesn't Matter".
I felt like banshees were swirling around the perimeter of the room, and then simultaneously diving down and ripping my soul out.
It was a feeling I'll never forget. Awesome.
Man...it sure would be nice if they'd come back to the States again before I'm an old man... :(

It Doesn't Matter is absolutely mind blowing live, I agree. That deep bass feels like some sinister force is pushing it's way up through the earth and into your body. It really is draw dropping, that bass.
The first time I saw the Chems, this girl who joined up with us freaked out during It Doesn't Matter, and she wasn't that big a fan at all before that show, maybe only new a couple of songs at best. I'll never forget her reaction. Her eyes were misty and she started screaming, "I can feel this in my bones! I can feel this in my soul!!!"

Hoops, always sounds really different. I never heard them on their Surrender gigs :( . What were they like?
That's when I got the chance to see them for the first time.
They were at the top of their game then as they are now. It's hard to say what they were like in comparison without turning this into a lengthy essay - all I can say is that the show had a long lasting impression on me. I knew I was witnessing something very special. It had me sold from the minute it started.
You should pick up the Chemical Brothers Singles DVD and check out the Red Rocks footage on there.

ya, i already got the dvd, just thought that they would be different in smaller gigs. Speaking of live stuff, i heard a rumor of a live cd from the chems coming out in the summer. Probably not true but it would be awesome.

I love what I've got, but I'd love the chance to see the Chems in a smaller-than-a-festival setting - I have high hopes of experiencing that one day...
Where'd you hear the live cd rumor?

I have a few fave live moments....Never had the pleasure of seeing them live, but I got the dvd for whatever that's worth.... But yeah, that Hey Boy Hey Girl build up is intense. Awesome stuff. I hope I do get to see them some day.
The crazy tweaking towards the end of Junior parkers intro leading to the screeching intro to hey boy hey girl.....and when the first beat kicks in, imense, i cant imagine what Tom and ed must feel when they drop that!...
Next would be Big Jump live, that sounds so fresh and new....
The Clown on EBW7....
When the visuals come in for real in MUSIC RESPONSE...WOW
the green laysers for Get Yourself High....they go thru you!
and just many more
