Awesome news!

With all these DJ sets over the recent months I'm wondering if they'll be playing a DJ set at the Big Day Out's here in January/February. I doubt they'd be staring the live sets by then with the album still in the studio, but a DJ set would be most welcome!

It's just that no dance acts were announced in the first lineup that got released last week. Very weird.

The Chems gotta go where the love is. Spain loves the Chems and the Chems love Spain. It's all about the call and response.

I'd love to hear a dj set by the Chems in the States soon, but I don't know... it's an awful long way for them to travel and road test new material (which is what I gather they are probably doing) while trying to piece together a new album. With Los Angeles - the crowd they dj'd to the last time were a bit tough, it was for a festival called Audiotistic. Where we were up front it was goin' off and we were all into it but as for the rest of the crowd it could have been better - just sayin'. Maybe it wasn't the right setting, Audiotistic is not the greatest in my opinion. I would never go to another one unless the Chems were to play which... well, I can't speak for them but I doubt they'd play a gathering like that again. I'd love it so much if they played their own gig out here, in a club like how they do with Turnmills and Fabric when they are headlining. But if they didn't no matter how much a bummer it would be, I would completely support their decision to play where they want (especially if they didn't want to play Los Angeles, it's a fickle crowd who are stuck in their trendy ways)

There's always Coachella! I gather they must enjoy playing there!

So if they come to Coachella, you know I'll be there - it would be nice to get the other Americans on the board together for a Chems gig some how.

Speaking of coachella, I was just about to buy plane tickets yesterday for the last weekend of Apirl next year to palm springs. Decided against it since I might be adding more air fare to the trip (might see my aunt and uncle in san fran.), thus getting a better deal on my flying rates.

BTW, theres openings for the motel 6 in Indio!

Pretty please Tom and Ed play Coachella 2007!

Hey Bosco, will you be renting a car when you come to California? Because Palm Springs is a good 25 minutes or so drive up the highway from where Coachella is. There are busses (just ask Darkstar, king of public transportation) but it is not very easy or efficient getting around if you have to rely on it. Not to mention, there's really not much to do in Palm Springs - or Indio and surrounding areas for that matter.

Also, the Motel 6 in Indio is not really walking distance from the venue (I have a great story about the year stash and I attempted to walk to Coachella from where we were staying a couple miles from the venue - it wasn't pretty let's just say that).

You would be better off flying into San Fran, then closer to Coachella flying into Palm Springs. You'll dig San Fran, it's a great city!

Hell, if we got to Coachella this year (I mean, if the Chems play of course) then we can definitely meet up and we'll cart you around in our car.

Indio sucks, hard. Boring, dismal place on your own and sober. (Quite a bit more fun wandering around with people on drugs, but most things are. :D ) But I found a really, really, really good Mexican place to eat at. One of the best meals I ever had.

I won't be able to make Coachella 2007, Chems or not. Right after exams I have two weeks of pharmacy rotation that are mandatory. Boo-urns.

And as much as I want Tom and Ed to make it back across to this side of the ocean and do a proper tour (whether live or DJ sets in proper clubs), I am kinda sick of hearing people whine about it in every thread where a new gig is announced. We all know that Tom & Ed are wanted here. They know we want them here. But it's simple logistics and cashflow. Complaining in every thread makes us all look like a bunch of prats. Nothing personal, as I've done my share of venting and pleading on this issue before, but I think the point is now made. My two cents.

I originally thought at the age of 21 you couldnt rent a car (minimum age of 25), but i was mistaken. You can, with an additional underage fee. So I gotta decide if I really feel like its worth to pay an extra $25-30 a day extra on my rental car to go see stuff like Joshua National Park and or go see the Salton Sea. Otherwise if I dont get a car im sure I can hitch a ride (give some gas money) from someone at the hotel/motel that i stay at to get to the polo grounds from day to day.

what is the closest, hotel/motel (cheapest) to the polo grounds then?

my scheduling for my trip is still up in the air since i would like to visit 3 places: coachella, vegas, and then san fran.. So the schedule of the trip will be made up by the most budget friendly plan.

well thanks for the offer! ( hope you guys and the chems end up coming!)

It's kinda ridiculous that I keep mentioning the trip and its still 7 months away :-// , but I've got lots to plan since it will be my first really big trip, and one that I can finally afford to fund, myself.

I know, and I put myself into debt that I still haven't recovered from (largely due to recurring car troubles) to do so. I really want to see them again and I know that even if they come across the Atlantic I'm still going to have to spend $1000 minimum to go see them.

At least there's a decent chance of them coming to Chi-Town if they do make it across (Is there still a couch at yours with my name on it? :D ). Chicago would, at best case scenario, probably be the closest they'll come to me and that's still around 900 miles away.

I just don't think that continuing to protest is making them tour America any more likely. And it might make them less inclined to meet up with you personally if and when they eventually do come over.

Coachella is coming and with a little luck they'll be there. I'm stoked that you're planning and saving already ahead of time. It'll be well worth it and the adventure involved will make the show that much better. Trust me on this one. A shame I won't be able to make it.

Dude, you know my sympathies are with you on this one, but I think T & E know your feelings (and if they don't by now, they likely won't).
