Big props to everyone who's been around from the start (or at least before I started in 2002, I think) and also much love to you "newer" people (most not really all that new anymore) who help keep the site fresh.

Really is one of the nicest places on the Net. Especially considering we don't always have a lot of new news to chat about.

Following their fifth consecutive number 1 album last year, the Grammy award winning ‘We Are The Night’, The Chemical Brothers return with ‘Brotherhood’ a best of collection with a kick and a twist, set for release on 1st September 2008.

The Chemical Brothers have established themselves as true pioneers of electronic music and have become one of the most popular dance acts of all time. Now seems the perfect time to take stock of their seminal output with the double disc celebration that is Brotherhood.

Brotherhood comprises of 2 discs, the first is a collection of 13 undeniable benchmark Singles from the band's immense back catalogue and new track ‘Keeping My Composure’ which features the shimmering flow of Baltimore’s Spank Rock.

The 2nd will feature exclusively Electronic Battle Weapons 1-10. Since 1996 Electronic Battle Weapons have acted as the laboratories for The Chems devious musical experiments and laid the rhythmic and melodic foundations for numerous tracks as well as providing some of the duos most formidable mixes. Until now Electronic Battle Weapons 1-9 have only been available on various limited formats and this is the first time they have been widely available.

Brotherhood will be preceded by the digital download single Midnight Madness on 4th August 2008. Derived and developed from Electric Battle Weapons 10, Midnight Madness is The Chemical Brothers at their most infectious, euphoric, report to the dancefloor best.

Cool--I do wonder how many repeats we'll get on the singles disc, though... :-/

I'd rather have liked to see that b-side album being released as a physical one not another "single best of". Or a "things that never made it on the album" disc. There might possibly be lots of unheard "sofa" perls that could sure make another standalone.

What would defo gets my attention were a disc about alternate versions of actual lp tracks showing the different directions they wanted to go during the producing process of each era - something like Chicos Groove Mix 2 or Under The Influence.

At least I could imagine there's stuff like that still out there.

"Derived and developed from Electric Battle Weapons 10, Midnight Madness is..."

In meaning that we are part correct that midnight madness as parts of every EBW before or that EBW 10 could be something totally diferent then midnight madness (yes overanalyzation)

but

that's not an album?

He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

It's an album, just not an album full of new music.

It's one new track per disc...

Ha! Damn Pooter! Your right! Two new songs on two discs!

But we already have 'The singles' album!

kind of reminds me of all the different Terminator 2 movies I have on DVD. Same movie, few differences!
