A little info bout Sneakerbeater i read on his site

:-

Colin doesn’t like house music, or at least he didn’t. For many years Colin liked dance music, he just didn’t know, more into guitars than beats. In his late teens he was listening to 'The Happy Mondays', but didn’t understand that this music was basically dance with guitars. Then in 95 and after listening to countless indie bands and the introduction of ‘brit pop’ Colin became disillusioned with the whole guitar thing. Just as well dance music had a bright new spark, ‘the chemical brothers’, who inspired a whole new genre of dance music ‘big beat’, then a healthy clubbing appetite began. And it wasn’t long before Colin was a regular clubber at such legendry clubs as ’The Big Beat Boutique’ and the ’Heavenly jukebox’

Colin was beginning to like dance music. Around the same time he would go round local dj Mark Edwards house (of soulfulhouse.com fame) for a ‘smoke’. Mark would always be playing with his decks, Colin didn’t understand the power of the turntable until he kept his first mix in, then he was hooked. Colin started buying own records, cos he wasn’t that keen on playing Mark’s soulful house records. For the next few years Colin had to steal his friends decks, which he did quite well for 18 months (cheers Mark & Dan!). Fortunately for Colin he was offered a set of second hand decks which he snapped up.

For the next few years Colin refined his sound, and became more and more housie, he recorded a series of mix CD’s. He now dj’s regularly down the local pub and has been invited to play for the ‘laboratory sessions’ on several occasions. Recently he has played ‘Quench’ at Warwick University student union, as well as co-running his own night ’percussive thinking’ at vamps nightclub in Woking. Colin is developing a more production based style, using cd’s of self made effects, re-edit of tune and cheeky bootlegs.
