It seems a bit weird that you British guys get Further later than we here. I mean, Tom and Ed could sell their album directly from their recording studio straight away.
Actually, I'm torn between watching or listening it in the first place. From what I could see on youtube in their interactive teaser, it was so creative and matching the musics' spirit that I miight change my mind tomorrow when I get home.

Watch it first, man. Not doing so would be a crime on yourself. Just ask Whirly or Bosco what I mean. If I had heard Snow without the visuals the experence would have been five times less amazing.

Jeanie, your avatar, is it anything to do with Lazy Town?
You're going to attract all the pedos to the site!

I hope "Don't Think" is available through the bonus content, I haven't had a chance to place the CD into my computer at home (I'm posting from work today) and it seems its an "Album Only" release on Itunes which means I'll have to buy the Album online as well to get it.
Anyway...
The visuals on this DVD are gorgeous, I wanted to cry!! It makes the experience worth wild! I must admit I wasn't that interested in Swoon at first but I adore it now from watching the whole album. My favorite visuals were Dissolve and Escape Velocity. I stayed up late to watch "The Making Of.." too! I'm very tired this morning but it was all worth it.
Thank you Chem's and Vegetable Vision for my visual and audio brain explosion!

downloading further now! first sight of the visuals since the roundhouse!
Defined a little more formally, "escape velocity" is the initial speed required to go from an initial point in a gravitational potential field to infinity with a residual velocity of zero, with all speeds and velocities measured with respect to the field

Finally, some justification for spending all that extra money last year on getting a laptop with upscaling-to-HD video and LED screen!
Have just cleaned the screen thoroughly, not a speck or smear on it.
Now if only I wasn't downloading via mobile broadband I'd be watching it by now...

Such a filthy bouncy opening, then just what I love from the Chems, rhythmic, up-tempo, an almost relentless come up of a tune, layers of sound so much to get your heart truly racing....then calm down a lyttle and... Don't think, just let it flow...then the scary "I've done too much" feel...dirrty dirty beats near the end.... Simply put, this is immense....
I'm gonna have to listen to this for the next hour...the further experience is taking forever to d/l...

Well, I think the word 'crime' is a bit melodramatic! While the visuals compliment the music, I don't think the Further Experience is necessarily the end all be all for everyone (as people like JacksRevenge and MadPooter have pointed out) I don't think listening to Further is exclusive to watching the film, though in terms of the aptly named Further Experience, one could argue that with the visuals and music combined you're getting the most out of what this new Chems album has to offer. I have no regrets first hearing Further with the accompanying visuals. I had a a couple of "how am I going to listen to this album the first time?" questions going on in my head - maybe I'll go down to the ocean and sit on the sand watching the sun set into the water, or maybe I'll go for a drive, or perhaps I'll just chill on my couch with my husband and watch it in the womb-like confines of my living room. Then the Pass came along. And my first listen ended up being me sitting on a rather uncomfortable kitchen chair in front of my computer monitor, with my nice headphones snugly fit in my ears. And there I sat in awe and breathless and overwhelmed, my backside going numb and not giving a crap because, hey. It's the Chems. Then the next morning I woke up dying from the flu, hahaha. Anyway, my first experience with Further wasn't what I had planned out at all, and seldom times great things happen by accident or happy coincidence - so I wouldn't trade the Further Experience being my first experience with my favorite band's new album for the world.
Anyway, I have been playing the Further Experience on my iPhone, so I can listen to the album on the go. In my car, or typing away at work plugged into my headphones. I worked from home part time today (because my husband woke up this morning dying from the flu so I had to mind our son after school) and I had the Further Experience playing on the tv while I worked. And each listen has been lovely, and the music is beautiful each time. With or without the visuals, or at a passing glance at the visuals. This music is unfolding in so many ways, and there are new things I'm discovering or that take my by surprise that give me goosebumps, or take my breath away, or make my heart swell.
So while I would say my first listen to Further via the Further Experience was the way to go, and of course I highly recommend it (just sit in a more comfortable chair perhaps) - the thing is, music is subjective and we are so fortunate that the Chems music can stand on it's own. Although the Further Experience gets the whirly stamp of approval, I've always stood by the notion that there's no "one" way to listen to music and I think the same can be applied to the Chem's latest and greatest.
Blah.

Is there anything like humor for you ?
I don't think so, you take each of my post seriously, even when it's oviously not intended to be taken seriously.
Of course I wish I had Further, but if you really think that I want to kill all those who already have it, then you've got a little problem.

first of all i think further comes along with surrender and come with us. some kind of an adult surrender/come with us. but totally different. just further. also, as i mentioned in another thread, a "minus" for me is that further is such a easy listener that none of the 8 tracks (haven't heard don't think) is really challenging me (okay maybe horse power a little bit) cause all of them are so awesome after first listen. kinda weird thoughts i know...
love the feeling, when playing a chems album from time to time and suddenly i love a track which i don't like so far.
but anyway:
SNOW:
what can i say. what a huge opener. the sub bass, the melody...perfect. goes along with their biggest openers (music:response, come with us). transports the feelings of further perfectly. i wish that the chems will do an album in future which is full of relaxed maybe downtempo "snow - like" tracks. just for the chill of it it's the further alive along.
10/10
ESCAPE VELOCITY:
big as ever. a 12 minutes long brainf*ck madness. perhaps the last explosion on EV comes a bit aprupt (around 8 mns). escape velocity is the psychedelic reel of further
10/10
ANOTHER WORLD:
with dissolve maybe the best track on further. the way stephanie dosen is singing on this is breathtaking. also the simple and also perfect bassline gives this track what it needs. the synths do their job to make another world euphoric as hell. another world is the star guitar from further
10/10
DISSOLVE:
this track is the beatles in 2010. this track has that pure chemical touch (like das spiegel, marvo ging, orange wedge...yeah you know what i mean). also transports this 60 psycedelia moment well.
10/10
HORSE POWER:
here we have some kind of a weird break in further. after watching the visuals, i see the context, but when just listen to further and it's heavyless and summerly (in a positive way) tracks till horse power it kinda frightens me on my colorful further trip. for the track: a beast, very raw and dirty which should be called EBW11. stunning visuals!!! it's the "further - it doesn't matter"
cause of it's position for destroying my peaceful further trip i rate this:
8/10
SWOON:
heard the radio edit before and yes, the extended version is way better. the long break, the scratch before the last peak. awesome. this is pure summer on the pool with nice ladies and cocktails. let me forget the bad trip of horse power after the beginning of the swoon synth line (duuuuhuuuuduuuuhuuuuuduuuhuuuuu). the message is lovely too.
9/10
K+D+B:
the brother of dissolve i think. just read my review about dissolve! but what a melody. early kraut. this is song writing with only a few sentences. psychadelic feel at all. peaceful visuals. nice
10/10
WONDERS OF THE DEEP:
hm. i was so excited about this track formally known as intro track. intro is huge as it ever was but i think this one is too short. i mean the intro needs it's time on this song as the outro. in between we have pure awesomeness but for me, the "in between" could be 2 minutes longer. this has also so much energy (and a nice message too). if dissolve is the brother of k+d+b on this album, then wonders of the deep is another worlds sister. this is the star guitar / hold tight london from further
7/10
= 9/10 from me to further.
