Makes you wonder how stupid the British public must be to make a poor track like crazy frog go to number 1.

Yeah, but how many copies does it take to get to number 1 nowadays? I heard it was around 17 000. So, if the kids are buying it, it'll reach the top spot pretty easily.

Fuck the crazy frog......big up Harold Faltermeyer!!

Maybe 17 000 was the figure for one of the lower selling number 1s then. I'm sure its been done in the last couple of years though...

Christ - When you think of how little money the artist actually gets from the sale (about 2% right?) then you really don't make any money at all from singles.

And that's only if it makes number 1.

Yeah, what the heck are brits up to? I was almost 100% sure this week's number one will be Coldplay's Speed Of Sound... but that frog is utter utter shit

Not that I'm a fan of the crazy frog, quite the contrary, but Coldplay's new single isn't really any more interesting! I appreciate the fact that they are a proper band and all that, but my feeling is they are just as disposable as the frog!

I work for HMV and the amount of adults buying that crazy frog tune was ridiculous! Some people were buying 4 or 5 copies each! There whole attitude was like 'its only a bit of fun, isn't it!'.

LOSERS!

X-D A fellow record store employee!

The customers I get will almost never admit the record is for them. I know they're lying when they immediately offer up saying it's "not for me" or it's a "gift" or for their kid or whatever. It's like being pulled over with pot in your car - oh no officer, that's not *my* pot! I swear!!

I one time was being a smartass and let it slip when I had a customer who was buying Ace of Base, and he said "oh, but it's a gift for... um, my girlfriend." I told him, "Oh sure, blame it on the girlfriend! No worries man - We don't make fun of anyone for the music they buy... well, at least we won't make fun til you're out the door!" Of course it helps when you wink and smile. He actually laughed!
be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle

}:-@ Ace of Base rocks. 'Young & Proud' is top-class Eurodance. Don't ever bash anything from Sweden again, especially not their bikini team.

And, that really ISN'T my pot, officer! ;-)
