i'm gonna let you guys in on a little theory i have.
followers of the Warp label are aware that they catalogue their LP's with the title of their label and a number.
example:
Autechre: Incunabula is WARP17.
Autechre: Amber is WARP25.
Boards Of Canada: Music Has The Right To Children is WARP55.
these catalogue numbers are assigned based on the order of release. right?
yes - but not all the time.
when Autechre's "Confield" was released, it was given WARP128. it should've been WARP88. they jumped up.
i figured this was a commentary from WARP that's the album is ahead of its time. the music is an apt proof of that theory.
now, the last album that Warp released was catalogued WARP127. now is the time that WARP128 should be released - but "Confield" took it. but what do we get instead? the announcement of Autechre's NEW album "Untilted". and what's the catalogue number? WARP180.
this means 2 things: 1) WARP is playing the numbers purposely, and 2) WARP180 is probably a commentary on the nature of their new album. EVEN FURTHER ahead of its time? i think it means they're doing a total 180 in their direction. i think they're going in a more dancy direction - hence, the touring.
and what is a 180 curve anyway? a straight line? or, one might call it, an untilted line?

for sure.
"Draft 7.30" is WARP111 which is pretty much in track with the other releases on Warp, since for awhile, they kept alternating from 102 to 111 back to 103 and stuff like that.
what if Autechre collaborated with The Chemical Brothers? that'd be madness!
