Yay! well I was excited more when I seen them on the TinthePark lineup, cause I knew theyd end up playing Oxegen, so im more relieved rather than excited. I was really hoping that they would confirm, just so i definitely knew, cause sometimes bands dont always do both. Whether it was in the brothers' control or not, I am very grateful to hear they are playing and OF COURSE im gonna be there. :D
Hope you guys play Oxegen first and not Tinthepark, no fatigue! :D

serously, im not going to go on another rant about oxegen, i think everyone here knows my feelings about it. from being a punter and from being within the industry i know how shit it is from both sides.
unfortunatley tom and ed have nearly no say on where they book, unless they make it a point to object to a venue, its all up to their agent, who is aproached by promoters, offered money and decides on those grounds.....it clearly is a money issue seeing as they played oxegen, then the picnic and now back to oxegen......
is unfortunate, but hey, you gots to make money!

Ah yes, I will never forget the infamous frozen pea incident at Oxegen!
It's sort of funny (not funny ha ha, but funny as in curious in a Spinal Tap sort of way) they're booked to play in a horse stable at Oxegen. I certainly hope the place is fumigated beforehand. I have no doubt it will be great no matter what, though. I mean, Nocturnal Wonderland was held in downtown LA in a gargantuan parking lot and it turned out quite cool, and Coachella is held on a giant polo field with stables all around. I'm sure all the feelings of wtf will be forgotten once the Chems are plugged in and the lasers are goin' off!

Ahh the coachella horses. I remember in 06 going to the camping parking nd seeing the horses in the stables. I swear I saw a pony too!
As for chems playing in a venue typicaly made for the equine sort......I don't think they'll have too much objections. Olympia is used every year for the royal horse jumping show. And with the 'Kick Ass' visual used in their live sets ("animal track', EBW6, Don't Fight Control) I think they have a special place in their hearts for the horses. Of course I could just be an 'ASS' for saying this all.

My first time to see the Chems was at Oxegen a few years ago in said horse shed and I can only say it was great.Back when Hey Boy was still starting the set.Its not like you need a tetanus injection before you go into the building or anything,in fact its really quite similar to lots of venues. Its the whole Oxegen "experience" that I dislike.Still, these are the things that have to be done for the Brothers. One thing I WILL say for Oxegen is that at least a good few acts are announced BEFORE tickets go on sale, not like Electric Picnic.

^ hahaha, I know the feeling! Luckily the Chems closed out most Coachella fests I went to where they appeared, and at Nocturnal Wonderland (which was pretty much an all nighter) we split right after their show. No use hanging around hoping for something better when you've already gotten the best the night can give.
