I would be surprised if that video ever made it to prime time MTV viewing. Even in edited format. At least here in the states. Granted I haven't sat down and watched MTV is a long time, but 'back in the day' many subversive videos were shown much later on in the evening or wee hours of the morning (like Aphex Twin's Come To Daddy, for example).
I thought the video was unnerving in that these random acts of violence and thuggery (in broad daylight within plain view of innocent bystanders no less) were so senseless and without provocation & justification - which would be the irony I suppose. Some parts I found more disturbing than others. I don't like to watch anything where women are being assaulted in anyway, or seeing young thugs assualt old women.
Other than that, I'm not going to bother with trying to interpret what I saw in an attempt to find deeper meaning. From a cinematic point of view I didn't really find the video all that, I didn't find it clever, nor the concept all that clever. But I suppose in fairness, it did affect me as I said earlier, I found some of the scenes to be unnerving.
Can't say I like the song very much. Maybe if I listened to it outside of the context of the accompanying video, things would be different. The end of the song sounds so familiar but I can't put my finger on it and it's driving me bonkers. Someone please enlighten!

So, we were talking a bit about that on the Mr Oizo topic : Justice is releasing a DVD soon.
It's a DVD + Live CD apparently, so all of you who were wrying about the live being a DVD and not a CD can stop crying, there will be both :)
Also, a trash documentary apparently :
