Apparently:

28 Weeks Later > 28 Days Later

I'm goin to check out 28W.L. on monday. Hope it's as good as is being touted.

City of God is one of my all-time favs. If you have it on DVD, check out the documentary on the slums and the Police that are sent in there. It really is crazy stuff. The confiscated weapons room is a sight to behold!

Loved Old Boy too, but as JacksR said, Heavy. Heavy like your body on a heap of Valium.

I've seen Spidey 3 last night and was quite dissapointed. Good effects but too much info for 1 film.

Spoiler:

The scene where Gwen is hanging on for life when the beserk crane is demolishing the building Eddie B. very casual making pictures of his, we learn in that scene, girlfriend while telling her dad it's his daughter hanging there. No panic all in 12 seconds. That scene is f#cked up.

Hey Whirly, I love 28 Days Later loads too, but I think that 28 Weeks is a worthy follow up. It's really quite fucked up, and i recommend seeing it at a cinema, you won't be dissapointed! :D

Sorry about that mixup was thinking Salvador when said Stone's first film - still havent seen it, but Heaven n Earth was BEAUTIFUL.

Saw Pan's Labyrinth today - liked it - nothing brilliant, but a good one watch, and the dark look is pretty nice - reminded me in very small parts of burton, tho the plot's almost non existent.

I didn't like Pan's Labyrinth as much as everyone else seemed to either JR.

And I don't know how 28 weeks later could even be watchable. The trailers make it look exactly like the first film, only with americans... "Oh, we're gonna repopulate the land where all the people died of a hideous disease that makes them eat people, that will end well yes!"

or... ohhhhhh does it have a deep anti-american message? Like, is London supposed to be Iraq? I could be down with that. Even a bad movie with far left politics is better than the best right wing movie.

Stash I didn't find Pan's Labyrinth anything more than one decent watch, but then I'm not a big fan of fantasy films. I liked the cinematography, and the way they kept it minimal, no too much staring in u'r face flashy cgi demons all over - it was certainly a fantasy film which involved a decent amount of acting also, most fantasy/ cgi films today are just gimmicks.

My sister took my mom, who has absolutely the worst taste in films of all time, to see the Fountain.

The only reason I want to see it is to see Hugh Jackman guzzle semen from a tree trunk.

It would probably be absolutely fabulous with the sound off and a chems album playing instead.

Are u serious stash?? I was looking forward to this film - came highly recco'd by some folks! Damn, if there's really a cumguzzling scene i'm definitely skipping this one! DO clarify if u were serious!

I have a feeling I'm gonna look like a fool now - I actually have no background to this film, and I don't read up film sites, except some reviews here on this forum!

Btw, saw 2046 by WongKarWai. Damn, I was fuckin disappointed. I had loved his stuff earlier, and was really hoping this'd pick up, but it was just fuckin sad for me - it goes nowhere - just tries to be pseudo cool, the characters, the story, the cinematography (tho pretty good, but we've seen it all mr wai), were all sad. just sad.

I watched 2046 with the sound off and Surrender playing.

And supposedly the tree semen is related to the plot in some way. I heard the Fountain is gorgeous, but it's really, really slow and doesn't make much sense. I'm going to watch it, but I'm not a big Aronofsky fan. I've discussed why before.

now u've got me confused. i dont mind slow movies, as far as they've got something to offer - there's a fuckin story that goes somewhere, or even if there's a good enough end to justify sitting through it 2046 didn't have anything there too, so u get the drift.

so should i watch it or not? i don't have too much time to watch films, n i'd rather not waste time on a waste, so a yes or no mr stash? u decide tonight!

The Fountain was suprisingly good in my opinion and im not a big aronofsky fan, but this film dosent rely on what i find to be annoying editing that his other films have. In fact this is a very straight film for aronofsky. What i really liked was that the film's story is told in a linear fashion while jumping around the different times. Also i did'nt find the film to be slow perhaps because i was engrossed in it.
