any given reason:





purchased promo, cd was stolen a week later

purchased promo and the bass caused my cd player to blow up, which destroyed the cd

purchased actual album and wanted to listen to it on my mp3 player, but my pc wasn't able to rip the disc

Well I think that depends on whether when you will share it with others. As soon as it hits your download folder, it's available to others.

well, now it is me comin' back to this, hope u aren't too angry with me. i am very very sad -and disappointed- that i have not been here for some days as i was on christmas holidays and now have to read this thread and the other one -u know which one is meant- as well.



i actually agree with all people who'd love to kick junkies arse. to give details about where to illegal download PTB is just wrong and some crime but as well unfair against the artists. i wish admin here would have done something with that thread, but it is too late now and i do not want to critizise our admin.



what i am a little unhappy with is the way some of us reacted. i totally understand if you are angry but that's no excuse for using that rude words as you did. what junkie did in this forum was definitely wrong but at least he tried to discuss about what he did and why and tried to defend himself. but only very few agreed on a debate, most just behaved in a way grown-up people should not do. IMO it is better to ignore junkie, he'll piss off then and leave us alone.



i can understand the people who downloaded PTB already though i would never do that and -apart from chile set- never downloaded a chemical brothers tune. some people may just be too curious about PTB that they can't wait though they've waited for 3 years. that's why we're hunting for promotional copies but as those are extremely hard to get they download it. but then they should just be happy that they've got it, love the music and - respect the artists and buy the record as soon as it is released.

I don't understand how people can comment on this subject when I see some of these same people commenting on their acquisition of promotional copies. Just because you pay an exhorbitant amount for something doesn't make it right. Promo or Digital...whatever...it wasn't meant for you so I don't think there is any reason to look at them differently.

apparently im supposed to feel ashamed of the fact that i downloaded the album and told others where to get it... but i am not

It seems we all have different priorities here - me, i wanted to listen to the brilliant music that i had discovered was available to me before i did finally purchase the album in january!

perhaps if i put the album on ebay and sell it as a PROMO COPY, then people like you will pay up to 70quid for it, and it will be OK then? don't think so.
