p.s. is it just me or this song shouts "EAT THIS KRAFTWERK!" ?
<ducks, hope Ed's not reading this>
::laughs:: Ed reads everything. He's a lurker, like the creepy-yet-absolutely-loving uncle who watches you from the closet as you sleep.

I feel that the track illustrates cycling pretty good, with that looping apreggio

I like it because it takes in all the influences, kraftwerk, the cycling, the grandness of the olympics. Its definitely them but it sounds different, like they have made an effort not to just produce a chemical brothers track. Its Class but what i heard is too short. Mixes please.

My first impression was a nod of appreciation to Kraftwerk, for sure. I played it for my husband last night and he said it reminded him of some of the more old skool industrial stuff he used to listen to frequently way back when. And I have to agree there. To me there's always been something about their tunes sounding so familiar in some ways, but Tom and Ed always retaining their unique imprint on everything they do that sounds unmistakably Chemical.

Totally agree.
Also hoping the version we heard is the abridged version and a longer mix is in our future!

I love this song. I'm so weirded my two top favourite bands have done the two official anthems (fallen in love with the Muse song now - grown grown grown on me) - and my favourite director from back in the day is directing the soundtrack! Full circle!
Proud of Tom n Ed! Really proud!

Hm. At the moment the intro overshadows the rest of the track for me. I don't mean it's a bad song at all. But it starts off dramatically and lush and gets a tad "flat" after it.
I really do appreciate the reminiscence of Kraftwerk with the breathing and the vocoder sample. And I do like the effects and segues throughout the track.
I was expecting something eaqually dramatic throughout the rest of the song as promised by its intro. Maybe that's my problem: my expectations . Let's see whether the bros have a longer mix in store on July 30th.
I guess it's needless to say that I'm very happy they were hired to do a theme for the Olympic games!
Btw, can anyone of you native speakers tell me why Zane was laughing at that "theme" thing? I didn't get that.

He tends to get carried away when the big boy heroes come in. Anytime i heard him speak to the beastie boys he lost it completely. total bollocks all the way.
I think he just thought it was cool the chems had been hired and its nice to have a theme from the olympics by one of his favourite bands

Oh and hi all! Been a long time, yeah?
Good to see 'round! Hope you're all good.
Yup, that snare sounded like one of my cheap compressed ones.
