Some people hate the English. I don't; they're just wankers. We, on the other hand, are colonized by wankers. Can't even find a decent fucking civilization to be colonized by.

ha.
even more sad is the history of australia.
An Englishman wanted to become an Irishman, so he visited a doctor to find out how to go about this. "Well" said the doctor, "this is a very delicate operation and there is a lot that can go wrong. I will have to remove half your brain". "That's OK" said the Englishman. "I've always wanted to be Irish and I'm prepared to take the risk".
The operation went ahead but the Englishman woke to find a look of horror on the face of the doctor. "I'm so terribly sorry!!" the doctor said. "Instead of removing half the brain, I've taken the whole brain out". The patient replied, "No worries, mate!!"

It was brutal trying to talk when I was in London, I had such a cold I felt rather awkward trying to get words out. Although, the cough syrup I got from Boots definetly gave me a kickstart on getting buzzed every day. :)

I must admit I had a hard time with marsh's accent at first. I felt like such a knob asking him to repeat everything.
The tough accents I've experienced are the lazy East Anglian 'Ah see oo la'uh, Mee-ar" = "I'll see you later, Mia" and the folks from Glasgow. I had a good friend from Glasgow and I swear it took me a 4 weekends of consistantly hanging out before I could understand a friggen word he said. The funny thing I noticed about the host family I lived with in Cambridge and my Scottish friend had the hardest time pronouncing Mia - they kept putting an "r" at the end of my name.
If you get me on a roll, I have to catch myself from saying, "like, you know" every 4 seconds in typical California valley girl fashion. Old habits die hard and I even annoy myself sometimes.

One of the many reasons I feel so at home in California. I do the exact same thing. Weather and scenery aside, Manitoba is SO the California of the North.
