Yeah but for me its a shame South Korea had to go out, just cause of their awesome travelling army of supporters (proper fans who sing for 90 minutes unlike some English football clubs). The team didn't quite have the cutting edge though to score enough goals.

Have been impressed by the Swiss in this WC, not much flair but very efficient. As for the French, unless they seriously get their arses in gear I'd be surprised if they beat Spain in the next round.

We will beat Spain !

I'm just back from the Champs Elyses, and it was crazy, cars were klaxoning, people were shouting, runing, singing, it was cool to see that :)

And people in the stadium dancing together at the end of the match, french, Togolans (huh are they called like that ?), and people from other countries all dancing together.

Germany 2 Sweden 0 - The Germans swept aside a very poor Sweden. Podolski got two goals but then disgraced himself imo for getting Teddy Lucic sent off (it wasn't even a foul).

Yeah, I'm absolutely heartbroken for the Mexicans, but the quality of that goal was amazing. Just leaves me shaking my head in disbelief.

Wow. Simply wow. That was a very strange game between the Netherlands and Portugal. So many cards, so much diving, a real sham, but an entertaining spectacle to be sure.

England have to be counting their blessings that they'll be facing a very depleted Portugal squad.

Yeah it was a good game that turned into an ugly, bad tempered affair, both teams as bad as each other really. Thought it was funny when the two players sent off towards the end were pictured sat near the dugout together talking about the ref!!X-D Shame to see Holland go out, would have been nice to see them get further (although it would involve them playing a certain other team ;-) ).

And England did enough against a resiliant Ecuador side, the QF vs Portugal should be an interesting game.

Yeah thought the Portugal sendings-off were correct but the Holland ones were complete bollocks. Don't think I've ever seen 4 sent off in one game. I think "In charge but not in control" would be the best way to describe the ref.
