What's the MS2000r, Ben_J?
Oh man, i could pee my pants seeing all those synths and setups. It's always an optical orgasm.
Getting all the synths I want will take ages of saving money. There's not enough life time. Or I need to get a proper payed job.

Korg MS200r. The rack version of the MS2000, a virtual anaolgic synth

EDIT : and I'll add that the MicroKorg is basically a tiny MS2000, as it uses the same DSPs, but the micro is harder to use since it only has 5 pots...

Ben_J I am proud of you. That was actually a great idea to follow getting the juno-106 first followed by the ms2000r. I know you were debating it about a year ago and originally i favored the other direction, but logically makes more sense cause the ms2000 is a bit more complicated. It becomes extremly complicated if you buy that damn microkorg!! There is a good computer editing program for it that i kinda wish worked on me ms2000r, but all in all the ms2000 is a million times better and appeals to those who actually want to make their own sounds (which is near impossible on the hard to read editing matrix of the microkorg). The microkorg was the second or third synth i got after my long lost JX-3p and I had no idea what i was in for... Didn't appreciate it too much and soon sold it on the grounds that i'd someday get an ms2000. I think those users will never understand the power of the engine on that 5-knob device. I mean theres 4 oscillators, how the hell to you edit that on that crappy red digit screen??
On an exciting (for me) note, I should be getting a Roland SH-101 in the next few days. Had one a few years ago but it had some problems. Bought it again for more money. Also had the MC-202 for a while (same engine), but it aint the same.. so hopefully this will tie it full circle

I'm working out a deal for one of these:
http://www.vintagesy...yamaha/cs15.jpg
A Yamaha CS-15. The analog mono I drool over. Dual multimode vcfs that you can route external signals through... I have died and gone to heaven. I've been dreaming about this one for the past couple months, and suddenly, whoo! A good deal popped up and I jumped on it. I am soon to be in analog heaven...

Let me know if you get the cs15 and how much you like it. always been fairly tempted by the earlier wing of that series, kinda have a good drity filter sound that's cheaper than those Electric Dream Planet Wasps and Gnats.
Got my SH-101 today, man that is such a fuckin great synth, just the apreggios on it are hours of fun, and when I run it though my guitar effect set up, ooo man, sounds so nice. Now I need to solder some stuff to my polysix and hope I get her singing again and I'll have a good synth set up after selling nearly all of it off a year ago.

Grrr, the guy with the CS-15 sold to someone local. Oh well. I'm getting a novation a-station instead!
@Ben_j... That's definitely not a very good price by US standards, especially for the rack version. You might wanna look into other VAs, for that kinda money.

I don't know how much euros transfer but I got mine (plus it's the BR version) for $300. I think it's well worth that and some due to it's openendness and the fact that once you buy that you have a million different types of sounds over some of the older 1-trick ponys (no offense tb-303s)

It converts to $404. 300 for a br is an okay price, but these days they're going for at most $275. Maybe prices suck over there, but if you're looking at paying the equivalent of $125+ more than you should, I'd look at other options. It could still very well be worth it, but I'm just saying...

no because everything sold in the US has the same price in € here... For example a Wii = $299 in the US and 299€ in Europe, got it ?
And buying the same synth from the US would cost me the same, with taxes, shipping (I'll wait 2 weeks and will worry about the parcel getting lost by tha magnificent French post, or being damaged) and then I'd have to get a proper power supply...
