I like Planet Rock......
He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

Some of the Planet Rock chords were used on Leftfield's "Afrika Shox" which features Bambaataa as well. Great track, scores 9 out of 10 for me.

Wow. Thats cool. Im just glad the Chems are not doing tracks with 'un-decent' rappers. K-os is well respected and has broken off from the mainstream hip hop scene here.

Hip hop style is not bad. I love Prodigys remix of Methodman and the Chems mix too. I just hope they dont do something with Eminem. Could'nt see that happening anyways.

I don't like hip hop. Especially Nelly and Eminem.

There's some great hip hop and rap artists out there, but like any other kind of music there's the crap artists and you have to dig a little harder to hear what's good. Public Enemy are incredible, hard hitting, lots going on musically, intelligent and all around kick ass - I saw them live during Fear of a Black Planet when they toured w/U2 and it was like going to an anti-KKK rally. It was not only the best opening act I've ever seen, I wished it were a longer set. It was def a fantastic experience and I haven't seen another show quite like it. Talk about pumping up the audience. The whole stadium shook.

More recently there's Jurassic 5 who I think are really great and their music really says something. Kweli's also good and so is Rahzel. Listen to Rahzel and you won't believe his beatbox skills. Or should that be skillz with a "z" He sounds like a friggen machine and he's awesome.

Seriously though, it's not fair to good rap and hip hop to be represented by the fluff that's shown on MTV. Yeah, that stuff has it's place and it has its target audience, but there's so much more out there to discover that's good and worth a listen. Rap and hip hop can be acquired tastes though, so I'm not trying to slam anyone for their dislike of it.
be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle
