Cannot look at Ice Skating now without thinking about Blades Of Glory! The skeleton bob racing starts tonight and Britain might have a chance of gold. Now that is for fucking nutjobs!

Wow, the Canadians nearly got put down by the Swiss in Ice Hockey. What an upset that would have been! I dont like the shootout rule where Crosby got to shoot twice.
Cross Country has to be the most physical draining sport ever. Seeing those racers collapse was frightening. Respek.
Evan Lysacek.....is from my hometown. Thats all your getting out of me with figure skating.

First off, Crowds EVERYWHERE!
2nd, Lots of drinking. especially on granville.
3rd, Skalpers at every venue meaning cheap tickets for moi.
4th, I love the fact that I can walk everywhere or take a skytrain quite easily.
As for sporting information. Sunday, got into victory ceremony on skalped ticket (friend got one that wa a bust) to see Heils' silver, Groves Bronze and Onnos' Gold.
Monday, Drank all day on Granville.
Tuesday, went to Fin-Chn Womens hockey game. Somehow China stayed in it but lost 2-1.
Wednesday, Walked out of my apartment 5 minutes before Fin-Bel mens hockey and talked to the first skalper I see. offers me face value $140 ticket for $70. End up sitting in the suite at the top and get free gourmet food for the whole game. Then get tickets to Curling in the evening. Very uncomfortable seats but 3 great games (which probably means nothing to you. Yes I am secretly a curling fan)
Thursday (Today), go through shenanigance to get up to whistler. Meet other friend wo is working at Alpine events. Get skalped tickets for Skeleton. Holy SHit they go fast! I've seen it on TV and think it's fast. There is literally a force of wind made by just the sound as they go by at 140 KM/H.
I head home in the afternoon. School starts again next Monday......I really wish I could stay longer.

Awesome stuff, Ryno. I would have liked to do the Olympic thing too but had no one interested in going with me.
Although I like and follow most of the other sports, ultimately the success and failure of these games rides on the hockey. Canada could blank on the medal podium but win hockey gold and I would be satisfied. Tight game against the Swiss but I'm not worried. (Bosco: I also don't like the shootout rule but it didn't help Russia at all to let Ovvy shoot three times... Should have picked Radulov.)
Ryno, nothing to be embarrassed about following curling. I've started playing this year, it's wicked fun. And, like any good Western Canadian, I've watched the Scotties and Briar for years.
Choked about no gold in women's skeleton but I have to give anyone brave enough to do that sport major, major props.

Yeah, actually Curling looks fun. I'm a pussy when it comes to extreme sports (which is just about most of the olympics). So the strategy and slow nature of the game is right up my alley. The Men's Canadian team is insanely good, all though, they're in quite a match with Great Britain as I type this.
Ryno, your trip sounds awesome, I'm jealous.
P.S. LOL, The crowd just sang the national anthem in the 10th end. That was awesome.
