I'm super excited but how are you supposed to watch a concert in a movie theater (especially from The Chems) and not jumping and screaming like a fucking monkey?

He laughs. "Well, you can if you want. But I just like the idea of people listening to our music quite loud."

I've seen one full on concert movie in a theater (a 3D U2 one that was mentioned in one of the Don't Think reviews floating around on the internetz.) It was very much a sit-and-watch kind of film, for sure. It felt a bit strange, now that I look back on it. My best girlfriend and I were among just 5 other people in the theater. Plus we were wearing those stupid, dorky and abrasive 3D glasses. But my brother saw a screening of Rattle and Hum way back when, which is more of a documentary laced with concert footage here and there. He told me during the concert bits, people were cheering and singing along and the excitement was infectious. I saw Rattle and Hum in the theater too, but my friend and I ditched school to go see it, so we were kind of on the down-low the whole time so had to keep low profiles and not draw attention to ourselves, lol! So I think maybe it just depends on the music and the audience.
I honestly feel Don't Think will be a totally different experience for a couple of reasons. First is the music, obviously. We know it does something to you when you experience it live... And cinematic-wise the film seems to immerse you right into the crowd and experience the show at eye level as a member of the audience. Something the 2 above-mentioned u2 films failed to do, even with all the snazzy 3D effects. The article Mumbo posted touches on the audience perspective and I think the teasers we've seen are a tiny nibble of how contagious the Fuji crowd's enthusiasm is - and the potential their enthusiasm has to bleed into the cinematic audience. At least I hope so!
