Now Hating:

Now I can see by graphing it out on log paper roughly what some of the answers should be, but inputting the data into the stats section of the calculator yields results that are obviously, to me, wrong. I'm following the manual step-by-step and it's written to be used by idiots, but something's not quite right.
So yeah, I know what the answers are, within what I consider a reasonable margin of error but I do need to know how to use the calculator properly, as it will save me lots of time, effort, and calculation.
Of course, I've had lots of time to do this assignment, but I was so burnt after the last couple weeks that I needed a couple days to decompress and that left me with today.
One question left, and then I have to try and find some way of confirming my answers. I feel bad asking classmates as I mooch so much help already because of how behind I am. I might just go to the prof with this one. He likes hockey; we'll bond over this kinetics assignment.

I'm so financially devastated that I was forced to work full-time this week, but I've been so tied up with school and other things that I really, really needed time to decompress and get my head back together for school.
Instead I only had two days off really, spent them almost entirely in bed, was supposed to go to my grandparents' place today for my grandma's b-day, but I knew I wouldn't have time for the assignment if I went.
Now I have other assignments and exams this week and next. I don't have time to work, so my account balance is rapidly pushing further into the red.
And I'm trying to get a relationship off the ground, but I don't have a single free day or night to see her. Bleh! And my ex thought I wasn't making enough time for her in September! hah, if she could only see now. Now I can't find a single night to spend with a gorgeous and funny girl without seriously imperiling my schooling.
I really really need to hit the reset button.
PS: And to top it off, we lost our soccer game tonight in a nail-biter. Also, I dislocated someone's knee in the game. I'm pretty sure the kneecap is NOT supposed to point in THAT direction. He was screaming something fierce and could not make it off the pitch under his own power at all. Had to be carried off.
Been there, done that before. Sorry guy, I know how you feel. It was a clean play but I still feel bad.
I'm in just the perfect mood to get back to classes. Thank god I don't have any more pot (or plan on buying any) or I'd probably just smoke myself into oblivion.
I can't wait for the middle of May to come. And then after that, the end of July (fingers crossed).

The assignment itself is pretty much fluff, but I've never done any of the practice questions because a) I was busy with other classes and b) I didn't have the right kind of calculator until this weekend.

maby your calculator is in radians and not degrees?

why would you have to take the logs?!?!?!?!?!?
does the concentration increase exspnentialy?
Yeah, it's dealing with two-compartment model drug elimination (distinct distribution and elimination phases) and I needed to extrapolate the elimination phase so I could plot the residual (ie. distribution only phase).
This allows me to treat the drug as though it behaves one-compartmentally.
Either way, it's first-order kinetics and required taking the log values (which I well knew). It just didn't occur to me to punch it into the calculator because I was plotting my graph on semi-logarithmic paper, so the log values were plotted physically automatically.

DJ Dance Escribi:
so is the elimination phase where a secondary part of the drug nutralizes the direct intoxifyer?
and is kinetics the phyics of how the drugs operates in the body?
Pharmacokinetics is the study of how the drug is absorbed, distributed, metabolised, and excreted in the body. Basically, how fast does it get in, how fast does it get to where it needs to go, how fast does it get out.
(As opposed to pharmacodynamics which is the study of what the drug actually does.)
The elimination phase (in a two-compartment model) is basically where the drug has reached its equilibrium levels between the two hypothetical compartments and is now being eliminated at a constant logarithmic rate.
Basically, it's a plot of log (plasma drug concentration) v. time and in a two-compartment model it's shaped like a hockey stick instead of a straight line (as a one-compartment model is).
Fortunately, most drugs behave according to one-compartment models, where there is no separate distribution and elimination phases. This, of course, simplifies things a lot.

Last year I was too drunk by the evening and missed the game. This year, with SPD being on Saturday, I'll probably work during the day and stay sober and then go get wasted after the game, but still.....
Not impressed at all.

The assignment was very easy, very straightforward and I just left copying out a final draft and triple-checking everything to do after work tonight.
Well, it's a bunch of grunt work, dotting i's and crossing t's and I'm tired and worried I'll make a dumb error transcribing because I'm tired. Nothing more required than not messing up copying info from a couple sheets into the proper boxes and writing a quick explanation why I chose what.
But I'm TIRED and I wanted to study one unit tonight for tomorrow's exam. Oh well, I've got time tomorrow. And then it's out tomorrow night. Thankfully.

Teh Int3rw3b.
Can't access the online course notes for a class I have an exam in tomorrow. I missed two lectures and can't get the notes. Hopefully the site will be back up later tonight.
Um, I'm in a spot of trouble. The exam is in four hours and the server is still down. I haven't ever seen this material. Bad news bears. I hope Heatcamp has her notes with her...

It wasn't too bad, probably got a B, but I bombed hard on the long answer portion of it. Frustrating because about two minutes after I walked out of the exam I could have answered the whole section perfectly. D'oh!

In Holland there is a new hype. And its really a MASSIVE hype. It's called Jumpstyle. Its some sort of hardstyle cheesy dance music ( really bad ) an d they do a certain dance to it. The kids nowadays love it. I really dont get it. I dont hate it because its kinda funny to look at but the music its just horrible.
http://www.jumpstyle.nl.nu/ look at this page , go to the 3rd link at the top " HOE JUMPEN " ( How to Jump ) and look at the various video's , from "Beginner Jump Moves" to "Advanced Jump Moves" ( Scroll down)
Fucking horrible music , and i dont get the dance either , but its funny tho X-D
