Would you just stop mentioning your age... It just won't work. That's not how we do things around here.

Well, crotor seemed unaware of it, and it might help explain why i didnt know that anyone over here likes electronic music

I'm perfectly aware of how young you are, and had been prior to that post. Nonetheless, I'm saying that there are people out there who are into the same stuff you are. I realize you're young, and you may or may not have a hefty curfew and overbearing parents, but whether now or later, you *will* meet other people like yourself. Hell, I went through Jr. high and the first half of high school feeling like I came from another planet. Come junior year of high school, I met the guy I mentioned in my past post who's married to the DJ, and we started swapping tapes. I introduced him to electronic music in general and the Chems in particular, and we formed a strong bond over our mutual love of electronic music. Long story short, it's not surprising that most of your peers suck at 14. Most people suck. Most people suck moreso at 14 because they're still caught up in adolescent posturing and identity establishment. 14 is a very dangerous age to go out on a limb and say "I like this weird thing that nobody else even knows about and will probably hate." Now, regarding the involvement of young people in any "scene," much to my frustration and displeasure as a 20-something male, every damn rave that I've been to seemed to be populated almost entirely by girls under the age of 18. Young people *do* rave. If you go and inquire about the scene, you might be surprised about what you find.

Frustration? That sounds about perfect to a perv like me!

Here, there is a thriving, but very, very small underground electronic scene. I don't really participate in it at all and none of my friends are really into electronic music at all like I am. I have, however, converted a few into Primal Scream, Massive Attack, Portishead and Underworld fans, although they've not yet gotten into the Chems. (And many of the young, nubile females I know love their Dutch trance and electrohouse stompers. With the disinterest of my male friends, leaves a dance floor of hot, young women for me! :D Strangely, few things seem to interest girls more than a guy who's into dancing to repetitive, body-moving music. )

Basically, you need to let the music do the talking, TheFlamingDead. If your friends honestly give the Chems (or the bands I mentioned above) a listen and still rip you a new one, you need new friends.

Personally, I like being the electronica "expert" of the group. People are always asking me if so-and-so is good or if I can lend them CD "X". Makes up for my utter lack of a personality.

Dunno what the laws regarding age of consent are up in Canada, but they are quite a deterrent down here. Besides, young women are annoying. Even moreso than the older ones...

Won't argue with the annoyance factor, but age of consent here is only 14....... 8O (!) 8O Why a happy medium of 16 can't be reached is beyond me....
