At the end they asked me if I needed to give any sort of notice for my current job and I told them I felt it would be in the best interest of my job history if I extended the courtesy of giving my employer of so many years proper notice.

Dude, if they want you to start immediately, *I'LL* call tower and quit for you... if they want you to murder your current boss and burn the place down as you leave, fricken do it... jeezuz... loyalty is somehing employers buy, and Tower's never paid you enough for that much loyalty.

Well, chemicalfan, the job I applied for is a customer service and product marketing associate for a company that auctions seized and forfeited items by police departments around the country. It's a sort of middle man who takes on the burden of dealing with all these goods that the government agencies can't get rid of on their own.

(I wouldn't be working for a police department!!) It's an online auction site sort of like ebay, everything from seized automobiles to jewelry, but we take all responsibiolity for items sold and shipped. It sounds like it would be dull, but it's the items that can be really interesting. The office seems very relaxed, I was the nicest dressed one when I went in for the interview. everyone was wearing jeans, hawaiian shirts and flip flops.

The pay is is much much better, but probably not enough to get us to New Year's in time for this year's Turnmill's event. I'd have to start all over again accumulating vacation time.

Sorry 'stash, but it was because of my good standing with Tower that had a lot to do with the new job prospect's consideration. They wanted someone who wasn't going to change jobs on them after a week, and they liked it that I stuck it out in one place for so long. I can't blow Tower off as much as I'd want to, because even though the company sucks it's not my coworkers' faults they couldn't pay me more. They're never want for applicants, so they never had to hire me back but they did *shrug* We'll see - if they need me to start in a week, week and a half's time I can probably swing it.

Fingers crossed!!
be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle

W3rd. Unfortunately, they own my loyalty (and hence, my ass) until my next degree allows me a sevenfold raise and change of employer.

I went completely mad during the introduction of that crazy Perfect Bird mix. They play a little loop (which makes "too... toodoo... toodoooo-dooooo...too...toodoo...toodooooo-dooo..." with beats (i'm not gifted for retranscripting music in ASCII signs :) )) with the Perfect Bird parrot getting crazy in his cage. It begins slowly, and then the pitch keeps on climbing, until it gets super fast, and then you can hear the "Perfect Bird" lyrics, with the parrot videos, and then the Astrorobot one...

And at the end of their set, they played Timber, that track with the chainsaw solo !!!

the kind of algebra im lookin at is::

like 3d=32 - d

I need to find D but how do i do it? i know theres numerious ways but cud some1 tell me one atleast.. i know none :S

This is really simple, basic algebra Foxboy that you'll be kicking yourself for after. But I've been there myself, so don't feel bad.

3d = 32 - d

3d + d = 32

4d = 32

4d/4 = 32/4

d = 8

say it was somethin like

4w + 1 = 13 - 2w?

6w = 14

14/6 = 2.3

Tharts not right but.. but u cud say like round it off to the nearest unit and it wud be 2 and thats the answer..

Explain :S

Yeah, you just want to isolate all of the variable (x, d, etc.) to one side of the equation. Then you divide both sides by the number in front of the variable. Just remember that whatever you do to one side, you have to do to the other to keep it balanced.

eg.

6x + 15 = x - 350

6x - x = - 15 - 350

5x = - 365

5x/5 = - 365/5

x = -73

When you bring the + 1 over, it changes sign, because what you are really doing is subtracting 1 from each side (cancelling it on the left). And with the 2w, you are really adding 2w to both sides (cancelling on the right).

4w +1 = 13 - 2w

4w (+ 1 - 1) + 2w = 13 - 1 (- 2w + 2w)

6w = 12

w = 2

No rounding off is required, and in fact, you will often getting fractional values for answers and you should leave them as such.
