How was your trip?!

Ours was a f*cking nightmare!

We thought going into Ldn, from where we live in the UK, going by train would be the best opition, We got delayed by a couple of hours on the way back, got taken off one train (because we went on the earlier train as we were told we'd be allowed too by a supervisor at Liverpool street station) only to meet some jumped up conductor who told us it was 'His train, his rules' so we had to get off at some random station and wait for ages, then we eventually got home 2 hours later than we should of! Then again.. We did make it to Olympia, so i'm not that annoyed really. How was everyone elses journeys back? I know alot of people were coming from further afield than the UK, So if you aren't homeward bound yet, have a safe trip xx

Why did the conductor kick you off??

My journey home was easy - train from Olympia station to Willesden Junction, then a short wait for a connecting train to Bushey, where I live.

When I got out of the venue I wasn't feeling too well - kind of overindulged and was feeling good during the gig but as soon as I was outside and had a fag it hit me in a bad way - so it wasn't the most pleasant of journeys but it was easy enough.

BEL - He kicked us off because our ticket stated that our train wasn't till 12.30, but because we were back at Liverpool st. station in good time, We thought we'd get the earlier train. We checked with someone that it'd be ok (That worked there) and they said it'd be fine because it was off-peak they'd be plenty of seats. Got on the train, was almost empty, but the conductor was a freaking Jobsworth and said that we'd have to get off, and go on the train we were assigned on, even though no f*cker was on it, so it really wouldn't of effected them. Its funny though, when i used to come from Leeds, I could get on any train, even if i was booked (Via an advance ticket) at another time. as long as it was on the same week.

He even gave us a smug look outta the train as we got off (He was sticking his head out the window and smiling like the grinch) so my fella told him he hoped his head didn't drop the f*ck off. He didn't smile so much then. Bloody d!ckhead.

I'm sorry to hear you weren't too sharp after - You ok now? I met someone who just came up as it was kicking out time - Bet that was fun! ha x

God, gotta love a jobsworth, eh? Hope it didn't ruin the buzz of the night!

Yeah I'm fine now thanks, just knackered! I was up and happy during the gig so feeling bad afterwards wasn't too bad, just a little embarrassing especially since I was on my own (friends were going in a different direction)! I spent most of the journey taking deep breaths and listening to the Chemical Brothers on my MP3 player :-D

Haha, Thanks Bel :) Nah it didn't luckily, it was good enough to just think 'fuck him then' and wait patiently. If we'd of known we would of waited at Liverpool street but we were left at S... station (i can't remember what it was called exactly!) but there was nothing there, no shop, nothing!

Aww, poor you being by yourself, You shoulda' come found me, If i'm not a complete state myself then i enjoy nothing more than looking after fellow wreckers!

We stayed in a hotel over night, it was very clean, but very basic, I felt like we should of been camping or something after, not going back to some overheated room :)

@Mitzitwinkles - I work for our wonderful rail system and yes, that conductor sounds like a total dick, you should complain about him.

I'm staying in a place near Russell Square and the tube station happens to be closed this weekend due to engineering work - something I didn't know about until I gets to the doors! Had to go up to Euston, get on the Victoria Line to Green Park and changed for Piccadilly Line to Earl's Court. I recieved the same email that JacksRevenge got, so had already decided to walk from there to Olympia. Was fairly straightforward though (the walk anyway).

Hey McMarsh - Your right, he was a dick. I could understand completely if the train was rammed, but you could have had a whole team of break dancers, or held the friggin' urban games on there, and still had room to throw a javelin.

The way he stuck his smug face out the window too.. Grrr.. I wish we'd got his name too!

Thats bad about Russell square being shut! I think our route would of been straight forward, if we'd have planned everything, dammit! xx

Btw OT but sat in an internet cafe near Paddington who have in the last hour played Sparks by Royksopp and Fanfare of Life by Leftfield - two of my fave bands after the Chems! Nice.

Btw Mitzitwinkles just tell the Customer Relations Dept which train you were on (like the 10:00 from Liverpool St to Ipswich or whatever) and they can find out.

There were 10 of us in my group, totally ballbagged. Most went back to our hotel, Olympic Rooms, bargain at £25 each! 3 of us went to The End, 20 year anni of the summer of love 1988. Queued for an hour and a half, then the queue stopped, one in one out. Fucked it off. Stumbled into some club called Sin. Horrible. It was a rock club. One pint then outta there.

Back to the hotel for 4am. Up at 9 train at 10.30 back to Weymouth. Longest 3 hour train journey ever. Everyone still feeling pretty twisted.

Top top night though!!

my trip home was going rosie until I got to the air-bastard-port. we got on the plane and the pilot said we were going to be delay'd for an hour. then that turned to two. then three, we were on the f**kin thing for 5 hours before it took off!! and to make things worse some wee smelly kid was sitting beside me and thought it would be good craic to fart every two minutes. I mean these things were like napalm!!! and then to top it all of i started to take a panic attack. cuz I f**ckin hate flying. I mean im like B.A in the A team. plus coming down of a cocktail of drugs didnt help either. I still feel like dung today. but jesus crisps was it worth it. best gig to date!!!
