Anyone notice the striking similarity between the bass in this song and in "Poison" by The Prodigy? I guess that's what the chems were listening to for inspiration at the time!

No.
He put on a turn-down collar, a black bow, and wore his Sunday tail-coat. As such, he looked spruce, and what his clothes would not do, his instinct for making the most of his good looks would.

Here's something that's really irrelevant.

The short "wosh wosh" sound in the main loop in GYH sounds a bit like the longer more varied "wosh wosh" sound in Prodigy's "Breathe", which was in turn sampled from some Wu Tang Clan's track or video, where someone was slashing with a sword. So the chems could have picked it from there, but why would they have bothered? It's more easy to create that sound yourself than editing the Prodigy one.

Alot of things I hear in a day sound like what I listen to. Could all these sounds sounding like each other be coincidence?

Thor, I think they're influenced. One artist hears a sound from another, and tries to imitate it. Obviously they won't get it the same, they don't want to, it's just a good base to start from.

Hal, no I'm not deaf, I just know my tunes. Note the word, similar. Not the same, but similar.
