I saw this evening, in the subway, a tour date for the Chemical Brothers in Paris !
It was mentionned : 25th of february.
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find any info about it yet.
Could someone help me just to make sure that my eyes didn't play tricks on me ? ;)
Thx !
Otherwise, I guess that I'll have to wait for a few days

You guys should follow the Chems from venue to venue - Grateful Dead style (but without the pathouli!)

The venue where we saw Jerry Garcia had actually banned the Dead from playing there, but Jerry Garcia could perform with "the Jerry Garcia Band."
(really stupid reasons, too) So... it was sort of like the Dead but without all the effects.
Anyway - the Dead shows were known for the parking lot fare, and the parking lot was insane just like I'd heard. I got offered so many drugs it was unreal! The whole Dead scene was a fascinating subculture, a sort of microculture that lived and fed off of itself. There were people who spent years and years caravaning all around the country watching the Dead, and they lived out of their cars and cooked food/made clothes/etc. to make money.
I didn't have a ticket when I got to the show. I felt really out of place, being the only goth n'all. ;) But everyone was really, really nice and really excited about Jerry's birthday. My friend's brother said, "don't worry about your ticket... just walk around with your index finger in the air - that says you're looking for a 'miracle.'" So I walked around the parking lot with my index finger in the air and in 10 minutes I had my miracle ticket.
Unfortunately the show was incredibly lack luster and only lasted a little over an hour. Nothing to write home about - it was probably the 2nd most uneventful and forgettable show I'd ever been to (Steven Stills being the 1st) He did do a nice version of Louis Armstrong's "It's A Wonderful World" which closed the set - but there was a lot of "Happy Birthday" singing from the crowd. I think Jerry ended up having a heart attack a week later, so I felt bad about being negative about his show. Anyway. Definitely an interesting peek into a subculture I couldn't identify with before.

Of course even better is to just have the financial means to sit back and relax and enjoy the shows from venue to venue. That would be the life!!
My friend (the chick that was into the Dead) and I went to several U2 shows together during the Achtung Baby days, and we'd get to the venue early and watch the crew running around getting all the shit together. Those shows were so big, the set-up was massive and it was really neat to see a show evolve like that from the ground up. To go from nothing to something. And a couple of times after the shows, we'd hang out where the big rig trucks were, and watch the crew bring out the stage, trunk by trunk, wire by wire.
