i remember the first time I saw a chems cameo, it was actually in this comic book, Aliens vs Predator: Eternal, which was this kinda abstract story and at one point the narrator was at her computer in her flat and in the back was a huge dig your own hole poster. thought that was the greatest thing ever. I always hear them use chem songs on mtv show, especially gyh. I heard it one time and they edited the song around a lot and it actually didn't sound bad

that's the suite she wore in oops i did it again. that camel toe is soooo photoshoped. think of it, a camel toe with a vinyl suite on?? impossible.
My brother-in-law worked with a fellow who edited film for a living - and he had the lovely job of editing out most of that cameltoe in the Britney video. Can't tell you whether or not he disliked that particular project, but I have a funny feeling that he didn't object! ;)

the chems music is on so much stuff it's really amazing. I was thinking that I know of no other artist (maybe fatboy slim) where they are recuringly played as background music. I think it's quite funny because lots of my friends bash the chems alot and yet they have a very palpable presence in our music culture.
This, I agree with, and it's a very noteworthy observation!
A couple of people I work with - people I really respect and have worked with for years now - cannot stand electronic music. No, they don't bash the Chemicals to my face because they really are above that and can respect that I find beauty in their music and it means something to me. But for the most part they are very resistant to the impact that electronic music has... not only in music culture, but in pop culture (even modern culture as a whole) in general.
So what do you all think makes the Chemicals tick in sync with music/pop/modern culture? From a casual standpoint (casual meaning, not really a fan like we are) what makes their music the perfect "soundtrack" or background "noise" to any given scenario be it televised or otherwise? Could it be that whether people notice or not, their music is aesthetically pleasing to the subconscious (no, I'm not high - just thinking deeply here! ;) ) Is it the beats and melody and all the textures in their music that allow the tunes to 'sync' up to what's going on? Hmm. Personally, I don't find it surprising that the Chemical's music has permeated certain aspects of our culture because, but that's just me and my opinion. :)
be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle

Leave Home was on a TV ad here for a Coca-cola competition back in early 1996. I didn't even know it was a CBros track until I bought Exit Planet Dust the next year. :-//
I remember digging that ad so much that I spent ages switching from channel to channel hoping to see/hear it. At the time I commented to friends that it would be cool if the new Prodigy album (FOTL) would sound similar to that ad. X-D
It was also in a crappy movie starring Icecube that was about gangstaz in South Africa.

another chemical cameo. the crap-tacular tv show vip with pamela anderson played music response in a episode and at the end of the show she said 'music was provided by my friends the chemical brothers'
thought that was funny
she's just trying to be cool.
