Or, really anyone else who may have any suggestions where I can stay when I go see The Chemical Brothers in Amsterdam in June.
The Flying Pig hostel is booked for that weekend--do you know of any decent, respectable hotels/hostels where I can stay for that weekend I'm there? I'm flying in on the Tuesday before and staying until the Thursday the week after. I was only able to get lodging for Sunday and Monday night (July 1st/2nd).
Any ideas?

Hey Pooter!
I'm afraid i wont be much of a help. I'm on a 'discover Amsterdam' tour myself! I havent lived here since i was 17 ( And i'm turning 22 soon ) So i have no idea WHATS going on in the Dam nowadays. Anyway , i will ask some people that i know here if they have any idea's.
In the mean time , keep on searching and than ask me what i think of the area.
But i will ask some people! :D

check this site: http://www.hostelscl...-Amsterdam.html
Irish fan and I spend a night in International Hostel about 2 years ago. It was noizy, crowded but quite cheap and very near to Central Station from which you can go by subway/tube (or whatever you wanna call it) to Bijlmer station where the Music Hall is

I've actually managed lodgings pretty well so far now.
I'm staying in two different hostels and a hotel, and leaving the last two nights open to reserve another hotel on lastminute.com.
And as fates would have it, my tax return provided me with so much more money than I could have expected, setting in stone my arrival in Amsterdam June 26th. YEAH!

If you can, definitely settle yourself in at the Flying Pig Hostel. Their space is filling up fast, by the way, so book soon. It's very chill and I had a great time staying there with my ex-girlfriend a few years back, mostly because they had queen sized beds for two people to share.
The Bulldog appears to be highly rated, which is where I'm staying for the first few days when I get to Amsterdam.
Other than that, my only experience has been with the Flying Pig, and yeah, it was a good one.

I feel very silly for not having any tips or reccomendations for u guys.
I dont even know Amsterdam myself! X-D
To be fair, I couldn't recommend a hostel to anyone looking in San Francisco, where I've been living for nearly two years. Hotels, on the other hand, I know a bit about, but I've never been backpacking through California cities.
Come to think of it, I've never been backpacking through any cities. Not necessarily that I'm a POSH traveller, but definitely somewhere in between dumpster diving for food and dining seaside along the Mediterranean, closer to the seaside.

Well , the things is , if u live in city u have a house there so u dont need hotels and hostels! X-D Ask me about england and scotland , i know , but not about my own city X-D
I prefer hotels over hostels , but i dont mind hostels either.
The past 4 years ive stayed at SICK hotels when i had to go to location for a shoot. When i say sick , i mean really unbelievable. Shower in youre own personal garden in the Seychelles , for example. Aaaaah those where the days X-D

Has some pretty cheap and good hostels , some from 20 euro's a night , some with private rooms. If any of u still need a hostel , check this link and then lemme know so i can check if the area is good and convienient! The best place to stay is in the "Jordaan" , that is the true Amsterdam!

And yes ive heard many things about the Bulldog , mainly because Bulldog also owns MANY coffeeshops. The area is VERY dutch / youre in the middle of the red light district X-D Some people may find it way too dodgy , so its not for everybody to stay there. Its not Amsterdams safest place , either.
