There's a lot of tunes the Chemical Brothers have put out. Now give me 15 tracks from their 6 albums, b-sides, or remixes, that you would choose to try and convert someone to Chemicalism!

1. "Come With Us"

2. "Enjoyed"

3. "Elektrobank"

4. "Piku"

5. "Loops of Fury"

6. "Three Little Birdies Down Beats"

7. "Surface To Air"

8. "It Began In Afrika"

9. "Burst Generator"

10. "Star Guitar"

11. "One Too Many Mornings"

12. "Setting Sun"

13. "Get Up On It Like This"

14. "Chemical Beats"

15. "The Private Psychedelic Reel"

Man, I left out alot of my other favorites! It's funny, cause I initially was trying to start this thread and narrow it down to only 12 tracks, but I just couldn't do it. So I stretched it out to 15.

This old man,
he play beats,
He don't need no music sheets,
but with a snip-snip-snippy-snip
gave his mop a chop,
Old man hairstyles are a flop.

Hmm... I'm a little to buzzed to think this out correctly, but Consumer, your list really doesn't cover the wide array of people the list needs to cover. Its more like "Fucking excellent acid house", "psychedlia", and "chilled joyous melody"... alot of people, especially the Yanks, are all about lyrics, which none of those songs have.

When some of my friends heard Galvanize, it made them hate the chemical brothers. Now I feel bad :(

My playlist would be a DJ mix in this order:

The Boxer (DFA Version)

Galvanize

Piku

Block Rockin' Beats

Song To The Siren

Voodoo People (Prodigy / Dust Brothers Remix)

Packet of Peace (Lionrock / Chemical Brothers Remix)

Slow (Kylie Minogue / (Prodigy / Chemical Brothers Remix)

The Salmon Dance

Morning Lemon

Hey Boy Hey Girl

The Sunshine Underground

Swiper

EBW6

The Private Psychedelic Reel

This would be for an American newbie despite the fact that I went pretty light on the lyrics. I usually go with two 80 minute CDs: one with hard beats, the other with downtempo and psychedelia. If they're up for one more, I throw the deeper, lyric heavy tracks at them (The Test, Golden Path and so on).

Slow has never been remixed by The Prodge.

I'll sort the 15 tracks into different categories of people according to the tracks they would like from the bros.

• The "oh, I've already heard this track before, but I had no idea who it was from" type.

1. Block Rockin' Beats

2. Hey Boy Hey Girl

3. Galvanize

• The "I think I would love electronica but I'm too fond of pop to completely turn to listening to that kind of music" type.

4. The Boxer

5. Battle Scars

6. The Golden Path

• The "I love electronica but only when it's not too violent" type. (aka the "trip-hop" fan)

7. Where Do I Begin

8. The State We're In

9. If You Kling To Me I'll Klong To You

• The "Electronica? Sheesh, give me guitars and some bass man" type.

10. Setting Sun

11. Let Forever Be

12. The Diamond Sky

• The "electronica is so synthetic, it conveys no emotion" type.

13. The Sunshine Underground

14. Spring

15. Burst Generator

edit: i tried hard to step back a bit to do this list. these are not my favorite tracks (can't believe TPPR didn't made the cut), they are the tracks I think would attract people the most according to what type of music they usually listen to.

I like the way Slipvin and innerwatch divvied up the songs...

Anyway, my 15 would be probably most like Slipvin's since it would be samplings from each album with a sprinkling of b's and one-off's. Very very difficult to choose songs that depict the diversity rather than pick favorites, then again wouldn't we all want to pick favorites we felt best define our favorite band? Anyway...

Exit Planet Dust:

1.) Chico's Groove

2.) Life Is Sweet

Dig Your Own Hole:

3.) Block Rockin Beats

4.) The Private Psychadelic Reel (sorry can't help it!!)

Surrender:

5.) Hey Boy Hey Girl

6.) Out Of Control

Come With Us:

7.) Star Guitar

8.) The Test

Push The Button:

9.) Hold Tight London

10.) Surface To Air

We Are The Night:

11.) Burst Generator

12.) The Pills Won't Help You Now

b-side:

13.) Morning Lemon

one-off:

14.) The Golden Path

remix:

15.) Spiritualized I Think I'm In Love

hehe, - I'm sure if I sat down to do another list right now, it would be totally different. I think yesterday I was in mood that was leaning more toward wanting to hear more melodic and pretty music, and the kind with vocals. :) The Chems change my mood at will... or do they simply match my moods? hmmmmmmmm...
