There's always a couple of years inbetween albums, and they're really working the tour machine down to the gears this time around - but hopefully we'll get some tunes that will be new to us.

If it's a single that has Electronic Battle Weapon 9 on it, I'm happy.

Yah now that you mention it it seems odd that we haven't seen EBW 9 on a single yet. I know most of the EBWs got a release on a single eventually. The only one I don't recall being on a single was EBW1 (It doesn't matter) or EBW3 (Under The Influence). I know they were later on albums but I don't recall if they were on singles.

Yeah, except the album version of Under The Influence isn't EBW3 - EBW3 is the album version, combined with the Mix 2 (as found on the Singles Bonus Disc).

And It Began in Afrika full length is also a little bit different from EBW5, so not all of them end up released exactly the same later...

You know, I consider myself a pretty big fan and can rattle off names of Chemical Brothers tunes in my sleep. I'm also pretty good in the memory department and can recall bit of trvia about various songs I've heard here and there over the years. But when it comes to Electronic Battle Weapons and what versions are which, and what versions appeared on albums/singles/vinyl only/ etc. etc. I have a hard time keeping my shit together. It's so annoying being me sometimes. :lol:

So back to the EBW9 topic, wasn't there some sort of remix contest where the winner would get a release of some sort? I remember that crappy remixer, which had all the samples that Segue sampled and then did a proper tasty remix.

So, perhaps that fits into the grand scheme of things concerning another release for WATN? (Maybe another EP with live tracks?[!]

and like TDJ I don't think I've heard the original EBW5. I've heard the version on Biff's Rareities Vol.1 (with the drunken version of Life Is Sweet I saw live) but I thought that was an early edit of it.

could EBW9 (and the winning remix) be on the next Bside volume that they said they would release this year?

Also now that I think of it.....I wonder if there will be a release of just EBWs?

It is the album version combined with Mix 2. Not one or the other.

Don't forget that EBW7 never got a proper "name" ... it was just released as EBW7...

EBW7 was renamed Acid Children, but only released as Electronic Battle Weapon 7 I think...

It was never officially renamed to Acid Children.

It was a name that just we felt fitted the track.
