I think the brothers might stray away from releasing instrumental tracks as singles, anymore, for the fact that they dont wanna pigeon hole their fan base.

If you look at the last few singles the brothers have released, they are all pretty unique in the fact they could fit in many different genres, musically. Hence, a broader fan base.

Basically, what I'm trying to say is, the common Chemical Brother fan needs no more convincing. We all know pretty much know the awesomeness of tracks like Burst Generator, Saturate, Das Spiegel and other instrumentals from WATN. Meanwhile, collaborated tracks like Do It Again, Salmon Dance, TPWHYN, and ARR are great selections to reach to the non-typical chemical brothers fan (pretty much for the simple fact that they are collaborated tracks). And once they (non typical fan) get hooked with one of those collaborations/singles, they wanna hear more. So they listen to the rest of the Album, and then realize the brilliance of it, but they still wanna hear more. So then they check out the rest of the Chemical Brothers catalog. And then they find out they are a fucking amazing group. So then they soon become a full fledged Chemical Brother fan, thinking to themselves "And to think, I HATED electronic music."

I see what your saying, but it would be nice to appeal to what the fans want most at the time. I guess it's ARR this time, but maybe a fan request for a final ep? That would be cool.

Hmm.. I get what you're saying prochem, it does make some sense. I just don't think any band is going to please every single fan all the time. As for singles, they're a business move as Bosco alluded to. The fans who're sticking with them have likely already purchased the album and have found songs on there that they want/have been listening for. I'm not trying to denegrate what we fans think, or what we want - but I'm not so sure business decisions like what should be the next single is for us to decide. Then again... the songs on the Singles Bonus disc was pretty much decided by the fans. That was really fucking cool!! *And edited to add - It Began In Afrika was released due to demand.

And you are right, an EP would be sweet.! :D

Plus there's b-sides to look forward to!

I think The Salmon Dance was a good choice for a single. Some people might come on here (and probably already have) and say the brothers are just pandering to the rnb/hip hop crowd but if it makes them sit up and take notice, and maybe download/go out and buy (if these people actually visit record stores!) the album then I think it can only be a good thing. Sure, mention to someone you're a Chems fan and they might react "Yeah The Salmon Dance is a great song" but the right reply would be - "Have you heard some of their other work? - I can lend you WATN/PTB" whatever.

The Salmon Dance is all about marketing and expanding the brothers' popularity.

I'd like to see Battle Scars as the new single, or TPWHYN.

I agree with Prochem, All rights would have been a fantastic and strong follow up to Do it again. We are the night also would be the 3rd now in my opinion. The thing with all rights is, is that it's indie dance, and people who may not bother with a Chems album will rush out and buy the single as there's nothing like hearing that record for the first time.

Well, I predict the next single's color scheme will be a dark shade of green. Don't ask me why. Either that or a yellow. Battle Scars would be good with a green color scheme and ARR would be good with a yellow color scheme.

And we had Mountains, a Forest/Swamp and the Moon (The Moon?) as background landscapes on the covers...

If it's Battle Scars - probably a beach?

If it's ARR... I dunno...

Which bodyparts? Ears? Noses? We've had eyes, hands and legs.

I think Battle Scars would be a good choice for a single but then I'm not a fan of ARR...

I think a video for All Rights Reversed would be AMAZING. All Chemical Brothers music videos are great, so i can only imagine what they would do with ARR. Although a Battle Scars video would still be pretty awesome. I want We Are The Night to be the next single, even though it's not gonna happen. I'm hoping they'll do an EP of WATN like they did for Come With Us. That would be really awesome. (btw, im at school right now, haha)
