VorpalStorm: that sounds exactly like me -- 10 years old using SoundJam on OS9!!
OS9, how sweet that was. But OSX is the shit, especially if you do any audio, video, graphics, or programming.

Glako: OSX IS awesome! Sure, there were some teething problems with it at first, but it all worked out in the end. I do music, video and some Illustrator and Photoshop on it and I couldn't ask for a better system. (I also have Windows, thanks to BootCamp, so I can play games like Hellgate London and City of Heros, but other than that, it's OSX for me!)
We also must be around the same age. ^^;

I wouldn't band you into that group Glako, you seem to intelligent for your age (due to your cheese consumption I assume). Just generally speaking it's an O/S that doesn't let you delve into what's going on behind the scenes. I like to be able to know every part of my system, I'm even thinking about trying dual boot with Ubuntu next time I build a PC (Personal Computer).
Also, there are those that call it "OH ESS EKS" WRONG! It's "OH ESS TEN"

Thank you, penicilium cultures! ;)
just so you know: OSX allows you to delve into whatever for which you lust. you can rewrite the kernel if you care to do so. you could create your own graphical abstraction.
while it's true that OS9 was more closed, OSX is ridiculously malleable -- less so than Ubuntu, more so (a million times) than Windows.
if you don't use OSX, please don't use Windows -- use Ubuntu as much as you can!! :)
(although I'd recommend checking out OSX on your machine too; it's interesting to learn about how Cocoa works. Fascinating system, OSX.)

VorpalStorm: I'm 18, programming, writing, music-making, designing. if you write at all I suggest Scrivener -- it's an excellent program created by a writer, one non-programmer! It's one of the best, most well-designed pieces of software I have ever seen or used. You can really tell that he's a writer. also, the fact that he ain't a programmer sells Cocoa, Xcode and Obj-C pretty well......

Glako: 19, here, so I was just about right! I'll totally look into Scrivener. I've been looking to get something new, anyway.
Also agree that OSX is much more flexible that OS9. And butter compared to Windows. I still have a hard time switching back and forth with BootCamp. XP And Ubuntu! Ubuntu is very cool. A friend of mine installed it on an extremely old laptop and it worked flawlessly. I'm even thinkin' of trying to get it on my PS3 - it's possible, I just have to look into it more.
I tried to get into programming a few years back. But the class focused on Turbo Pascal and before I knew it, the year was over and all we had learned to use was a dead system. Greeeeeeat.

Apple just released a 32gb iPod touch with a price tag of $500.
Jesus, is a Mp3 player really worth that much? I mean I know the iPod touch has some cool features, but damn.
