I went to the polls gritted my teeth and voted the lesser of 2 evils - and that's about as much strength as I could muster. I haven't so much as talked politics with my closest friends in the past year or so because it I honestly believe it is toxic to my mental state.
I'm so burnt out on politics. I used to follow it closely and used to be so outspoken and idealistic and opinionated, but I can't bring myself to discuss it anymore. This is partly because the past 10 years have been exhausting. The Bush years were fucking exhausting. Not just outwardly, but inwardly. When Obama came in, it was like "Great! Change!!" and I admit I was thrilled. Quite a bit has been accomplished but at that point he was sworn in I felt as though I was slipping into a sort of numb, politically induced coma.
It doesn't matter how the vote would have turned out this time around. It's disappointing, yes, and everyone's upset and still we are polarized and lost. I listened to a bit of talk radio this morning on my way to work and I felt like stopping off at the drug store on the way in and picking up a bottle of Tums and a blood pressure prescription...
Now. Let's talk about happy stuff like puppies and rainbows!

So tomorrow I'm going to a Chemical Brothers Night.
They're playing Further Visual Experience at 23:00 and afterwards a Chemical related party.
Might be fun, don't really know what to expect.
A nice intermission before another live experience from the brothers. Hoping that comes really soon.

A few days ago I listened to Snow and then Escape Velocity, while walking down the Champs Elysées, with my new AKG K450 headphones. Pretty nice combination.
Beautiful. Listened to Snow + Escape Velocity many, many times biking. Amazing experience.
Ahhhh, the ex-girlfriend starts poking her head up when things with the new girlfriend-ish girl start getting good...
My favorite quote from Swingers:
Rob: At first you're going to pretend to forget about her, you'll not call her, I don't know, whatever... but then eventually, you really will forget about her.
Mike: Well what if she comes back first?
Rob: Mmmm... see, that's the thing, is somehow they know not to come back until you really forget.
