Simian Mobile Disco's next album comes out on August 17th.

Still quite a ways away, but I'm anxious to see if they come up with anything else as immense as Tits & Acid. Of the two tracks I've heard so far, though, Synthesize and 10,000 Horses Can't Be Wrong, I don't know that it's going to be a great follow up.

There are a lot of guest vocals, which makes me wary. I'm the type who loves to ride the synths in my head without any sort of voice getting in the way.

Temporary Pleasure Tracklist:

01. Cream Dream (feat. Gruff Rhys)

02. Audacity of Huge (feat. Chris Keating)

03. 10,000 Horses Can’t Be Wrong

04. Cruel Intentions (feat. Beth Ditto)

05. Off The Map (feat. Jamie Lidell)

06. Synthesise

07. Bad Blood (feat. Alexis Taylor)

08. Turn Up The Dial (feat. Young Fathers)

09. Ambulance

10. Pinball (feat. Telepathe)

What the hell. Everyone is going with the vocalists these days. It's getting really annoying. I guess i'll have a listen to those 2 tracks. I don't wanna judge too quickly.

It's getting slightly annoying, I agree.

In this particular case, the fact that vocalists are plentiful on the album does not worry me. SMD does great remixes (usually just leaving the vocals semi-intact), and I'm sure their artistic integrity will remain in their next album. However, the first two songs I've heard have me a bit worried. I like "Synthesize (No Voodoo version)", but I'm not too into the regular version nor "10,000 Horses CBW".

I -really- liked what SMD did with Synthesize live. I thought it was impressive, indeed.

You know, I was listening again the other day to their remix of Bjork's "Innocence," and I am always impressed as to how they handled that one. Maybe I shouldn't be too worried.

But then again, my favorite tracks of theirs still remain Tits & Acid, System, Sleep Deprivation, and Clock. None of them have vocals... Who knows--maybe they'll end up using some of the vocals in an absolutely progressive way, wowing fans across the globe.

I have never been a huge fan of SMD. However I am a little intrigued now that I see Jamie Lidell on one of there tracks. After all I do have a man-crush on that latter day soul boy. Loved his Jim album from last year.

So Neo-Soulster and chunky elctro boys joining forces. Next in my dreams Tom and Ed will be teaming up with Jamie Cullum. Jazzy goodness with psychedellic madness.

i gave the two tracks a listen and wasn't too impressed...

Having said that though, i did say the same about their music i listened to on their myspace prior to big day out.

Once i saw them live though i was surprised at how much better they sound live. i really like the song 'i believe'.

so i guess i'll just have to wait till i catch them live again before i make an official opinion :P

Does that mean you haven't got Attack Decay Sustain Release?

Because thats... thats pretty much necessary!

There are just so many good songs on there. Sleep Deprivation is amazing... actually just about all of them are great. It would certainly be easier to mention the ones I'm not into than the ones I LOVE.
